best pocket carry

I use a S&W 340 PD, the scandium/aluminium/titanium .357 with black finish. Previously I used the .38 S&W 642 airweight centenial.

For many years I have used the Uncle Mike's neoprene pocket holster- cheap, comfortable, works well.

"Dockers" slax look reasonably good but are loose enough to hide the outline of the gun.

I guess that depends on how big your pockets are, and how baggy the pants fit.
A LEO at the range always says: "When you need to conceal, no gun seems small enough; when you need to shoot, no gun seems large enough."

GOOD reply

Very good reply, I get ask this a lot!!
Like I know if a guy wears JEANS that fit like "SPEEDO"S" !!

I have carried my Beretta Jetfire in a Desantis Pocket Pal for over a year now and have been 100% satisfied. It works for me for those times I carry wearing shirt, tie & slacks.

Largest to Smallest:

Glock 26 Desantis Nemesis

Ruger sp101 Desantis nemesis

S&W 36 CS revo Desantis pocket pal

Keltec P32 Home made pocket holster.

Pocket carry gives the element of surprise for a CCW holder IMHO

I buy my pants with large pockets and a loose fit in mind.

P-32 in an uncle mikes #1 (with some stitching removed for the mag carrier), will fit in any pocket...

I have an ultra-lite Taurus 38snubby that is good. It gets the snakeshot duty when working in the words. However, most of my time is spent in an office with a bunch of libs that would freakout if they knew I had a gun(or should I say guns) in my truck. I can't risk being fingered. I just picked up a Keltec P-32. It is perfect for carry. I haven't done a range test yet but I'm optimistic. Once it passes, I'll get a belt clip and a pocket holster, a Hogue Hand-all jr and some spare mags. Currently I've just been carrying in a coat pocket, condition 3, to get use to it. I carried the snubby, but it is hard for me to conceal in my work attire and feel confident that I won't get caught.

Most of my pistols are for carry, the afore mentioned snubby, a Kimber compact and now the P-32. Of course the Kimber is prefered, but the reality of it is I unless I'm going to be wearing a jacket, the Keltec will get the call. The snubby has been adopted by my wife.

For complete concealability, I would pick the NAA Guardian in 32acp and put it in an Uncle Mikes nylon pocket holster.
My personal favorite is my Smith 640, 357 in an Uncle Mikes pocket holster.

P-32 for the firearm among those currently available.

Its beefier brother debuted last week in .380 ACP but the same weight and size. Not expected to be available until May.

The Rohrbaugh R-9 also debuted last week. It's a 9mm locked breech pistol slightly smaller in a couple of dimensions than the P-32 and weighing a few ounces more.

Since I'm not a fan of blowback designs, NAA and Seecamp pistols don't show up on my radar.

I FP carry a P-32 in a DeSantis Nemesis holster, which conceals it perfectly, but it's not, IMO, the perfect FP holster. That, I haven't found... yet. :D

It will depend on how loose your pants are and how deep your pockets are, but I like the S&W Bodyguard Airweight (Model 638) in my Kramer pocket holster:

For complete concealability, I'm with Delta Elite on the NAA Guardian .32 in an Uncle Mike's nylon pocket holster. I also have and like the S&W 640 .357 but find it too big for pocket carry. I carry that in an Uncle Mike's IWB holster, usually clipped on to my belt between my pants when I am wearing an untucked shirt or jacket.

The only handguns I have been able to carry in my front pocket are the S&W Scandium j-frames and Kel-Tec P-32's. Anything else makes my strong-side pocket sag.

Usually carry a S&W 638 in either a Uncle Mikes or a Triple K pocket holster. If I need something even more concealable, I use a NAA mini in a Thad Rybka holster.

I carry the Colt Pony Pocketlite in a DeSantis pocket holster when I absolutely need something small and LIGHT. If in a shirt pocket I use an Uncle Mikes pocket holster.

past 2 days I have been carrying a smith 637 in an uncle mikes pocket holster in my front pocket of relaxed fit jeans with no issues at all. Looks like I have my wallet there.

Depends on HOW conceable it needs to be....

My all-time favorite is YZGUY's outfit: P32 with Uncle Mike's size 1 pocket holster. Either that or an NAA mini-revolver .22mag with 1 1/8" barrel.

If I'm not particularly worried about absolute concealment, I carry my 340SC in an Uncle Mike's size 3 pocket holster. I wear mostly Docker-style trousers and the snubby is fairly invisible until I sit down or squat; then, it seems to GROW.

For pocket carry, two absolutely essential factors that cannot be stressed enough are: 1) weight and 2) size. I carry in-the-pocket exclusively and having tried close to 20 different guns, weight and size are critical.

My next pocket pal: Kel-Tec's new P-3AT, whenever it gets out in sufficient quantities.

Harrydog,

I got a kick out of this gun writer opinion about the Downsizer:
"The recoil force is essentially straight back, with little muzzle flip."
Muzzle flip isn't really much of a concern to me in a single shot gun....
