BR and I are in agreement.

Four of the 2x7x32 prostaff scopes
are on four my 22s now.
The nikon prostaff is about
as high end as I will go for a
22 scope.
The price is good.
The scope is good.

Regards,
Old 112

I have three Center Point scopes. They have been on .357 magnum and .45acp rifles as well as my rimfires. None have given any trouble. For what they cost they are decent scopes. They come with mounts for a .22 dovetail. flip up lens covers and illuminated reticles. The maker guarantees them, and since I bought them at Walmart I figured I could take them back if I didn't like them (no need).

I like the 4-16 model because it has an adjustable objective. I paid ~$69 at Walmart.

I'm sure most will find this rather old school but I have always been quite satisfied with a Weaver K2.5 on my 10/22.

I put a simmons 6x20 ao on a 17hmr and it works great. For the distances you can shoot at the glass is perfectly adequate. I think it was $80 new.

I don't think you can do any better than the Nikon in this price range. You can certainly do a hell of a lot worse and I would strongly suggest avoiding Tasco, Centerpoint, BSA, Barska, Simmons, cheap Bushnells and anything else comparable.

I too have some CenterPoints and they're OK - but that's a pretty big and heavy scope for a little 10/22 :)

I'd be looking for a 22 scope with parallax set for 50 yds, or an adjustable objective and probably a fair bit lighter as it will not have to deal with real recoil?

I have had three CenterPoint Scopes on everything from a .22 to a .308. I think they are very serviceable scopes if your budget is ~$75 or less. My favorite .22 cal scope at the ~$120 pricepoint is the 4.5-14x40 APV. It has bright glass edge to edge, AO and solid construction.

Now that I've got an AO (Simmons .22 Mag) scope on my .22 rifle, I sorta wonder how I lived without it all these years. Some of my shots are very short (10-20 feet) and AO makes it easier to see what I'm shooting at, especially at night.

I Vote for Nikon also. I will be ordering one of each that are on sale at Cabela's soon. I have the 2x7x32 on a 22mag that I love, and need one for a 22 bolt action. I will be putting the 3x9x40 on a new AR my wife has.

A friend and I both purchased a Tasco 3x9x40 from Walmart and both are duds. Can't get either of them to hold zero on our 22LRs.. Won't go that route again. Just my opinon, so please don't take offense. I was hoping that I would have good luck as many people do with Tasco's but such goes my luck..

Two scopes I would recommend for 22 is a Mueller 4x14-44apv and a Red field
2x7-33 both about $120 but super clear glass edge to edge.

...just bought a Nikon Prostaff 3x9.....for a CZ 455 22lr.

...should be good I hope...

People put scopes on those?

Just kidding. The Simmons 22 mag 4x32 has served well on mine---$35.

The red field is superb glass yes! They are made here and owned by leupold.
I use them in big rifles and the hold up zero.
Made in the USA too not cheap china stuff.

the "new" redfield, manufactured by leupold, is the finest scope for the money in these united states, and i intend on putting one on every gun i buy from here on in.

BSA, Tasco, Centerpoint, NC Star, you get what you pay for....junk ! pay for optics at least what you pay for your firearm or settle for less and live with it.

Yeah, stay away from NC Star. My friend put one of their telescope sized scopes on his 10-22 and it almost isn't useable. It's like looking through a lens coated with tinted mayonnaise. I have a 3-9 Nikon Prostaff on my 308 and I highly recommend it. It is a stout and clear scope especially for the price! The fixed 4x Prostaff is supposed to be a heck of a scope.
