BSA, Tasco, Centerpoint, NC Star, you get what you pay for....junk ! pay for optics at least what you pay for your firearm or settle for less and live with it.
I never used to understand that until I bought good glass. I'll never go back. It makes shooting so much easier and more enjoyable. I have no problem paying more for optics than the rifle.

Good glass is good glass if the scope is good will last several lifetimes.

On top it gives me a great pleasure to buy any American made product that somehow puts some dollars in some family's dinner table here in America.

I also do not mind too much if it is made in Canada, Mexico even Italy, Spain, Germany, Japan (I do not care) who are free societies, good and loyal and when they save some money sometimes they come here to spend it on vacation.
Why everything has to be made in china? Quality control in the scopes is not there but even if they were good quality and low price I would not care.

So everything has to be taken into account when considering a purchase... NOT JUST COST.

I do believe a dollar saved at walmart is a dollar invested in the future misery of our children here so we have to support manufacturing here not with just claims but strongly demanding American made products where our voice is heard the most, which is at the counter in the store.

Both Leupold and Redfield are amazing products. I think that LEupold is a little costly but again I am investing in the future of my children. Redfield is a good prices and although limited in assortment they are superb glass.

Nikon are Japanese glass assembled in Philippines. Also great allies so i take this any day over any Chinese made stuff. Same with Vortex that is delivering some pretty nifty products.

Keep it simple and keep it real.

I bought a 3-9x40mm Simmons WhiteTail Hunter from Midway USA back around the last of Dec. for about $70.00-$75.00. I have it on my hand built 10 22 and I couldn't ask for more.

If you're looking for a bench scope (for a .22) the Simmons Whitetail 6-20x from Midway is an excellent buy. It's user reviews speak for itself.

I have 20+ .22 rifles, and have various scopes on them. I shoot mostly silhouette, so I tend to shoot higher power scopes. I have pretty much settled on the Weaver 40/44 and Nikons now. I do use Simmons on some of the rifles, and have never had a problem with them.

Thanks for the pointer to the Nikon Prostaff. I bought my nephew a Marlin Xt22 last week for his birthday because it looked a lot like my Marlin 925 that I put a Tasco 4x on a couple decades ago. Best thing I ever did, 1" tube scope centerfire scope on a rimfire.

I think I'll upgrade my 925 to a Prostaff variable and gift the perfectly usable Tasco to my nephew. My 10/22 sports a Williams receiver sight :)
