The SWFA SuperSnipers have a big following. It's a decent scope - particularly for the money.

^This. I have 2 SS's, a 10x SF and a 16x...and I love em both. They now make a 3-9 adjustable in your price range. It would greatly behoove you to check them out...there is tons of research on them and they sell like hotcakes.

Have you thought about buying a slightly used Leupold 6.5-20 LR off gunbroker or the likes?

I like my Nikon buckmaster 6-18. Good scope for the money and it will leave you some left over. I must say though that the suggestions for the nikons, bushnell elites, sightron, weaver, leupold, and burris are all solid options.
