My XD-9 Bi-tone Service now has over 4000 rounds through it without a hiccup. It is amazingly reliable, easy to field strip and clean and a real bargain. I definitely recommend it.

I'm not happy with CZ today or I may have voted differently. If I can ever get ahold of a human being there who can help improve my gun's trigger (sounds like it can never actually be cured because of the sear-hammer design), I'll feel a lot more charitable towards the CZ. Other than the crappy trigger, it's a well-built gun.

Right now I would not recommend buying a 75B under any circumstances.

Ala was choking on a Sig Mag while typing that reply..........ba ha ha! :D

Both are great guns.....I love CZ's and I love XD's..............................

You may want to look at the PO1......very close to the XD in most regards.

Shoot well...........Ill vote for CZ.

Lobotomy......youll calm down and come to your sense's.........:D

I've shot about 3000 rounds of 9mm through mine and 3000 rounds of .22 with the Kadet kit. I kept hoping the trigger will get better, but if anything it's gotten worse.

Any of you happy folks with the wonderful triggers interested in trading guns?

Yeahno... (it's a word around here). I sold my 75B to a friend when I was in a tight spot recently. Never again...when I finally bought it back is when the hives went away. :p

Seriously, though, I think you need to keep pestering Mike @ CZ about your trigger. I heard he'll do all kinds of trigger jobs and/or conversions, but I bet you're hoping that it's a warranty issue.

Personally, I like both guns equally so I flip a coin for you. Used a 2001 Kentucky quarter and chose the CZ as heads as you place the XD first and I wanted to balance out any potential bias.

It came up tails : XD.

The CZ 75B has been proven on battlefields around the world. The Springfield XD-9 has not been proven anywhere, except by armchair commandos.

Bought an XD last year, have been thinking about a CZ for two+ years. The XD fits very well, the double action trigger is tough to reach on the CZ for me.

Own a CZ, have shot an XD. Both are nice, but I'll stick with my CZ. Col. Cooper had nothing but wonderful things to say about the CZ75 and I echo them, although I can't say I've ever been in combat, unless you count the numerous badguy IDPA targets I have perforated.......

I've voted for the Czech pistol. I tend to regard the Springfield XD to be strange "wanna-be-Glock". It's no match for the Austrian pistol, in my opinion.

MAGNUMMAN is correct. The CZ 75 has been around for a long time and it is a proven design.

Bought a used CZ-75B and fell in love with it. Mt dad has XD40 and it not bad either. I vote CZ

I'll echo another poster's sentiment and say that the XD is a Glock wannabee.

That said I'd go with the CZ. Very well made, reliable and as accurate a pistol right out of the box as you can get for the money (both of my CZ's beat my $700+ Sig hands down). Combat proven and with the exception of the USA the most widely used side arm by LE in the world.

But that doesn't matter a hoot. CZ's just feel good in your hand. I can't say that about an XD but then I have funny hands with wide palm but short stubby fingers (which is why I shoot SA from cocked and locked and don't ever use that long DA pull on the CZ75B). They feel better to me than my 1911 though not as comfortable as my Sig P220.

In the final analysis though what we here say don't matter one tiny bit. Buy what feels best and what you shoot best.

Those that would say the XD has not been proven anywhere don't know the history of the firearm proir to its importation by Springfield Armory. I'm sure many Croatians would differ with you. Granted, the CZ has been around longer, and has proven itself as a fine handgun, but to say the XD hasn't just isn't accurate. It's probably as good of a value as you will find out there today, and isn't a "Glock wannabe". It doesn't function the same as a Glock, has different safety features than a Glock, has a different grip angle than a Glock, etc. It has a Polymer frame, and can fire the same ammo (plus lead ammo, but that's another story), but the similarities really do end there.

All that being said, both guns you mention would probably make you happy, and I would gladly own either. If I had to pick one, I'd go for the XD.

Good luck to you!

CZ-75B. Reliable, durable and tested and used by the military worldwide.

I like both the CZ and XD. The XD is of lighter weight. If you are going to carry it for long periods of time, get the XD.
