Went to Reno "Big Gun Show" this weekend and found in the bottom of a Plastic Tub of Various Magazines an odd little fellow . This mag was very simple and almost looked as if it was Homebuilt but it was an SKS magazine and had it's own utilitarian feel going for it so for 3 dollars I got it even though way more than half of all the aftermarket SKS mags are junk or almost but not entirely worthless. The Mag was a very plain black painted affair with a flat sided slight curl and a hole on each side about 3/4 of the way uo the top side, carried it Around to some of the AK/SKS/magazine vendors and one knew the Mag and it's Mfg Company and whipped out a 30 round version of it ! Yes it was just a lagger cap version of my mag all right ! but this one had stamped at the bottom (DC engineering Detroit Mich.) and that guy's 30 rounder was quite Expensive and he praised it as a real good" one that works" ! Another Mag Guy I showed it to said yes thats one of the Best ones ever made and the company went outta Bussiness in the early 90's or Earlier and he has a 20 rounder that he uses to test Modifications made to SKS's especially Yugos ! (Thats what I have so I was quite pleased) He asked if he could buy the Mag and where I got it (Informed him that it was a Bargan Tub find and that there were only "Steel" 20 rounders and som AK 30 rounders left in the Tub ! He said the "DC" mags are great and it was a rare find ... Any other SKS afficianados know of these "DC" SKS magazines from the 80's ?
