Yes, there are AOW FALs.

That's what they look like at night.

I own a Blackhawk in .30 Carbine. With a warm load of H110 it has a lot of muzzle flash. Not as much as a M-N 44, but you get the idea. It's great for mosquito eradication on the firing line with the firing impulse as well.

The 357sig also has a significant amount of muzzle flash and a loud bark, in my experience, particularly with UMC ammo. For general impressiveness, a PLR-16 Kel-Tec without the flash hider (optional) beats them all, though. Search for M2carbine's photos of his before and after flash hider. Not only is it a gee-whiz looking pistol, everybody knows about it when it goes off.

Regards,
Rabbit.

Glock 29 10mm 3.75" barrel
Glock 33 357sig 3.5" barrel

They both go boom! Both are very accurate, flat shooting and lot's of fun to shoot.

Just remembered , I can drop a GLOCK 32 barrel into my GLOCK 23. Alot cheaper than buying a new gun.

Iff'n we were just talking handgun ammo here, the 9X23 is kinda loud. It's substantially louder than hot .38 Super.

Think .223 brass shortened to 23 mm and loaded to more than 50,000 lbs chamber pressure.

Don't shoot one without ear muffs.
