Sixgun Nut
The SRH has become my favorite hunting revolver platform. I have them in .44Mag, .454 and .480.
The .44 is my most accurate revolver and has become the favorite.
Took this nice fallow buck with the .480 and a 355gr WFN at 1400fps.
Corsican with the same load.
Oddly enough, I haven't taken anything under 1800lbs with the .44 version. This was my first real world test of the 355gr Beartooth WLN at 1250fps. I was going to use the .480 but decided to order the .44 only weeks before the trip. Wearing the too-tall Ruger rings and the factory rubber Hogues.
The Grizzly 300gr@1450fps Punch load took care of this water buffalo.
While the SRH was with the gripmaker, I hunted with the Dan Wesson .44Mag in 2019. Then I sent it home with Jack to become a switch-caliber .45Colt.
That year I used the 240gr Federal Fusion factory load on both blackbuck.....
......and a Corsican/mouflon hybrid.
Have yet to blood the FA .454.
I was going to blood the engraved .500JRH when COVID hit.
The .44 was used on a lot of deer and hogs before Jack did the final remodel. This picture was taken right before I went out and popped two hogs with a 240gr SWC at 1100fps at a place in South Carolina in 2006. Back then I never took hunting pictures of myself.
