I'd really like to get a Glock 27 or 29 as a CCW.

However I have rather large hands and fingers, and the grip on gen 3 models is just too small for me. The finger grooves are just too small.

Has anyone had the same problem? Or can anyone recommend an aftermarket grip of some sort?

Also, I was thinking of getting the 29 and a .40 replacement barrel. Since the handle is little larger overall. Can anyone out there attest to the reliability of .40 cal rounds out of a 29, through what I assume would be a g29 mag?

Thanks

Have you looked at the G23? It works for carry and isn't really too big.

I have a 23 and a 27. One for carry (27) and one for fun! (23) the 23 fits my large hands better and is easier to shoot. I talked myself into a 40 cal carry gun for my birthday so that's how I got the 27.

YMMV

This is curious, because the guns you are looking at have deliberately abbreviated grips. I would think something on the order of the G19/23, or the G30 with the extended 10-round magazine, would be a bare minimum for you. You could add finger extensions to the magazines of the smaller guns, but then you would make them almost as large as the bigger guns.

The finger grooves are just too small.
Grind the "points" off the finger grooves with a wood rasp or belt sander, if you wish. It's only plastic.

your hands must be huge because glock by no means have small grips. I have large hands and after carrying a walther pps feel like im wrapping my hand around a 2x4 when I pick up a glock.

I would just go with something around the size of the 19/23/38/32 or just get the 20... I mean if you are dead set on 10mm and you have hands that are too big for a glock... you are by no means small. You could probably conceal the full size or compact glock easy. Sub Compact guns on a fairly big guy make no sense to me... esp when they want larger calibers for more stopping power... I mean when someone wants large caliber and short barrel it is fairly confusing to me because if stopping power matters why are you going under a 4" barrel?
