I voted for "which gun for my wife?" For Pete's sake, let her go try them out herself. That's one of the few thread titles I won't click on.

I particularly hate the bear defense threads because they seem to go on forever, complete with caliber discussions. Eventually someone almost always tells the joke about filing off the sights so it won't hurt too much when the bear takes the gun and....

I'm getting better: I used to feel compelled to read the bear defense threads. Now I can mostly ignore them.

Regards,
Dirty Bob

You left off the worst of the lot:

"Why I love revolvers" or "Revolvers vs. Semi-Autos".

The "S&W lock" gets my vote as distant second.

"Can I kill a deer with a .223?"

You've got the people that don't hunt/have never tried it that yell about "humane kills" (even though deer run when shot with .30 caliber loads all the time), then you've got the hunters who use it all the time trying to convince the poor guy that he's fine, just pick your shots. Just like any other cartridge.

We can complain, but let's be honest. We live for this stuff. It's why we keep coming back. If we really hated them, we would ignore them.

And I don't mind telling newbies how to remove cosmoline, for example. Some of this stuff is important. Newbies asking questions is a good thing.

You left off or ran out of room for the:

"I almost shot...drew...unsheathed...released...etc"

these stories are often made up and are the result of over active imaginations and fantasy situations for watch dogs.

"Which caliber for..."

these little nibs are often one of many things; either, someone did not care to research, or one wants to spark a debate, wants a laugh or a reaction, reinforcement for their own choice(s) and etc., etc., ad nauseam.

"Price check on..."

Uhmmmm, ... go to www.ebang.com. And go to you local gunshops, sporting goods stores and check the classifieds.

Lately, I have had a love/hate relationship for the elk questions in Rifle Country and Hunting. Those threads started my road down Jaded Lane.

P.S. -- Did I mention the AR threads?

P.P.S -- What caliber for bigfoot?

There are too many on the list that cause me to shudder before entering to pick just one.

Anti family (grow up, move out or follow the adult's rules)

Anti girlfriend (grow up, move on or follow the adult's rules)

Walmart (grow up, go to a real gun shop or expect unprofessional advice/treatment):banghead:

9 vs 40 vs 45, AR vs AK, 1911 vs glock, ... (hold the target in front of your chest and let's see which is "better")

lmao, that is hilarious and so very true. Some squabbles just need to be settled with a wet phone book and a few naysayers.

The EBR pic threads are lame, but I'd still vote the 9mm vs. 45 as number one awful threads that just won't die!

On the other hand, I can't get enough of the zombie threads!

This probably the one thing that spikes my blood pressure.

You get yourself tangled up with an emotional train wreck that can't think logically and then you post a thread wanting us to come out and fix your problem and somehow chaaaaange this basket case you're tied to when all you have to do is give them the boot solving your own problem. :cuss::banghead:

But we're still glad to help out and offer our services anyways. :D:D:D

AGREED!!! But no such thread is truly complete until it contains the phrase "clear leather". As in:

"When it gets to that point, I'm clearing leather!!"

The pistol caliber wars and the ARvsAK threads are the worst!

Hah, yeah that is d-baggery at it's best.

You forgot "Obama's gonna ban guns".

That's at least halfway understandable, as it's recent history.

I hate the "OMG did you see this!! we have to stop it!! the outrage!!!" - with a link to a 4 year old blog post somewhere about ammo encoding...

I've answered one or two of those questions myself. I take the attitude "if you have to ask, the answer is no" :D
