:fire: Bill Maher was on his tear about the NRA again (during his terrorism philosophy schpeel) on the O'reilley factor and stated due to the NRA people are still able to get guns... :fire:

Bill O had the perfect opportunity right there to say "No, its the second amendment that allows that, not an organization."
He let it go.

Next our Genius Maher says that we should profile on race and such and he praised Israel. -Yet another chance to nail him since Israeli's can carry. Bill O was terrible!

I think I'm done watching This Bill too. :banghead:

O'Reiley is very moderate on guns. He does not understand the issue. He is a beltway person like all reporters. Maher claims to be a libertarian which shows he too is ignorant. He sounded like a Nazi tonight. Wants to ban gun sales and have a 10,000 person homeland security force like the SS is to the President though this gang would be for the people. Pleeeeaseee save me from fools. :cuss:

I saw it too. A couple of dopes. He was crying about how the terrorists can still buy guns because of the NRA :barf:

Anyway, if mahr was a libertarian, he would likely be pro-2A. Most libertarians I know are very much in favor of rolling back all gun laws.

The reason BO didnt call him on it is because he agrees. The man has *never* come out on the side of the RKBA.

We're talking about the man who fearmongered on behalf of the antis shortly before the AWB expiration saying that we'd be able to buy machineguns and bazookas now.

You're at all shocked by this? Bill O'Reilly proved long, long ago that he's not worth watching.

I remember that show Reno. If I recall correctly, he had a rep. from Gun Owners of America on the show, but never let him get a word in edge wise. I do not have much use for O' Reilly. His chief debating skills consist of volume, interuption, and, when need be, cutting his opponent's microphone.

all true

HE advertised it like it was going to be a showdown. When the Bills got on together there were some quips but for the most part they massaged each other's ego. :barf:
"Fox news has the right product"
"Bill O agreeing that we should have the homeland SS"

I think that would be the other thing that cooked my goose. Pay a homeland security force for all public events. Sheesh that's the answer create more government groups. The answer is right there in front of them. ARM CITIZENS, it is our civic duty to protect ours and others, why pay someone to do what responsible citizens SHOULD do.

Oh yeah, I know why, so we can suckle on Mother America's Governmental ___. So many solutions could be solved by asking citizens to step up and take some civic responsibility (the recent Deer culling that is going to cost a city hundreds of thousands where we would have done it for free or even PAYED THEM. Just an example, but there's a long list, I won't go over here since it's been hashed and rehashed here on THR)

The older I get the more disgusted I get with the current state of affairs in this country. I really am getting to a point where I don't have a strong enough word that embodies the Nth level of disgust. :barf:

I saw that too, which shows how ignorant Maher is when he implied that the threat of terrorism is still present with his statement "people can still buy guns thanks to the NRA".; then he got interrupted by Bill O in the middle of his statement.

I hate to tell you this Bill Maher, but we "buy" guns lawfully, terrorists and criminals don't.

He might as well blame GM, Ford, Chrysler and other auto makers for the 40,000 deaths that happen every year from car accidents, and while he's at it, he should also blame Boeing for the September 11th attacks.

I'm not making a generalization here, because I'm sure there are others in the northeast that strongly believe in the 2nd Amendment, but for the most part, that's the typical mindset of New Yorkers and other people in big cities in that region.

I'm continually amazed that people seem to think that Bill O'Reilly is progun. He's an antigun statist.

Seriously, how can you possibly expect that a man who calls for federal regulation of internet content to be progun?

O'Reilly & Maher - both drink their own bathwater and both are irrelevant, just neither has realized it yet. Unfrotunately, both still get too much baaaandwidth.

Bill Maher is less of a libertarian than my pet cat. I cringe every time someone calls him one. I don't want anyone thinking he represents any part of that philosophy.

Doofus perfectly describes O'Reilly.

O'Blowhard, probably has never fired a gun in his life. Heck he's from New Yaark City, what would you expect. OTOH There are some things that are right up there in importance as the 2nd Amend. and the War on Terror is one of them. He's the only "bigtime" news guy who seems to get it. None of this we must withdraw crap, He says it like it is, if we quit this WOT now our grandchildren will pay an ungodly price for our cowardice. He'll report bad news from Iraq, but not the shear gloom and doom from the MSM, actual strategic info dealing with how many terrorists we killed, got away, the political tactics to deal with the thugs and the various Iraqi factions. And his pressure on the State Government in Florida and other states has helped push much tougher laws against convicted sex offenders, like that POS down in Florida that buried that little girl alive after sodomizing her, and that scum in Iowa that killed a mother, her son and then molested the daughter for weeks until he was caught. Both had long records and should have never been walking outside of a prison. :cuss:
BTW If your really concerned about our borders, like a lot of posters on this board seem to be, O'reilly is the only friend in any of the news agencies that you have. Heck he wants the National Guard stationed on the border, and blasted the Bush adm. for doing nothing about it(as he should, and yes I am overall a big Dubya supporter :) ).

O'Reily is a typical socialist. He does not believe that the subjects of a state have any rights. His only disagreement with other socialists is about what particular things the serfs should be ordered to do (for their own good of course and the glory of the state), not whether they should be ordered around at all.

Setting all the political nonsense aside, which of the big news guys actually thinks we shouldn’t fight terrorism?

Bill O'Reilly belongs to only one party or cause: the Bill O'Reilly party/cause. He doesn't care about guns because he wasn't raised with them, never used them, and doesn't care about them.

Taxes? He cares, because he pays a lot.

Borders? Not sure why he cares so much, unless he's ticked that he's paying an Irish maid more than one of his co-workers is paying an illegal from Mexico.

O'Reilly isn't a journalist, an anchorman, a commentator, or even a columnist. For cryin' out loud, he hawks shirts and coffee cups at the end of every show!

A few years ago, I saw Fox as a real alternative to the CNN/NBC/CBS/ABC liberal dominance of news.

Now it's turned into a freak show. They give 20 seconds to what happened in the real world, then devote the rest of the evening to endless coverage of missing or dead blondes.

If we could turn our attention to the other ugly douchebag in the discussion:

The very idea that Bill Maher claims to be a libertarian ought to make you kick in your TV. His solution to EVERYTHING seems to be a blunt, overarching, drastic government action justified by overly simplistic comedian logic. Scratch the surface and he's Pol Pot through-and-through.

I personally don't consider O'Reilly to be as anti-gun as many here do.
He supports licensing and registration, but he has also argued with gun-control advocates that self defense is a valid reason for owning a firearm.
I've also heard he say that the Minute Men should be able to carry "pistols" as he put it.
He came out supporting Ronald Dixon and he has said that NYC's licensing process is unfair.

Is he a 2nd Admenment absolutist?NO!!! And I wish he was,but he's no Sarah Brady,either.

Gordon, all of the big three qualify Rather(memogate), Jennings, Brokaw, whoops there all gone now, hmmm  . They consider Terrorism to be a Police action, just like the joke of a candidate they supported in the last election. The media is a whole is ant-American, or at least anti to this America and especially the President. O'reilly is the only major commentator who actually tries to see both sides unless it's some utter crap like what the hard left of today tries to throwout.
