I already had a Kar. 98k, a Type 99 Arisaka, an M1 Garand, a Mosin 91/30, a No.4 Enfield, and a MAS 36. With Sunday's acquisition of a Mo. 1938 Carcano, I've covered all the squares for WWII. Now it's time to fill in my remaining WWI vacancies. Sadly, I've already got the easy ones. :uhoh:

Where did you find the Carcano? Been looking around, but haven't seen too many without prices in the clouds for beat up ones.

I think I got too lucky getting the Italian Type I, and Type 38 and 99 Arisakas at my local dealer... ;)

What rifle did the French use in combat?

Any stick high enough to tie a white flag to? :neener:

Awesome, I'm going for the same thing with my C&R. I got the easiest out of the way heh, finding the Carcano, Arisaka, and MAS is next. I guess finding some money to pay for them too, and then some ammo.

Are you sure?

I've covered all the squares for WWII.

Those would be the 7 bigger squares, right?

The WWII collection isn't done yet. I see no mention of a 1903A3 or 1903A4 Springfield or M1 Carbine (Although you have the U.S. angle covered well with the M1 Garand), no Swedish M38 Mauser or AG-42B, no Aussie NoIMkIII* Lithgow, no Dutch Mannlicher M95 turnbolt, no Siamese Mauser, no Portuguese Mauser-Vergueiro, etc.

Get busy. ;)

Man, I thought you were going to try and use Bingo as a rifle game. Put a bingo square out say 100+ yards, and when they say "b4", you look downrange to see if you have that square, and then procede to shoot it. All bingo rules apply! :neener:

lol

Dang C357, you just gave me a new game to play at Turkey camp after the noontime end to legal hunting hours. :D

Add to that: Mosin M39s, M44s, M38s, M28s, A Steyr mannlicher, A VZ-24, BRNO 33/40, M1 carbine, and maybe a schmidt-rubin 1911 rifle or K31 for the sake of keeping neutral borders.

But she's got a good start :D

rbernie,

No Type 38 Arisaka?

Actually, yes, I have a nice Type 38 cavalry carbine. And a Type "I", too. Got one of those? :)

Gewehr98,

Those would be the 7 bigger squares, right?

Yup. The seven big squares of the seven major combatants. I'm not counting my M38 Swede, or my SVT-40, or my M44 Mosin, or my Chiang Kai Shek Mauser, or any of my other WWII rifles; I'm just celebrating getting a representative example of one of the Main Battle Rifles from each of the seven major combatants.

Don't toy with me, Gew. 98! I'm gaining on you as fast as I can! (How's your 19th Century black powder breechloader collection coming along? Wait'll I get one or two more so I can spring mine on you all unawares-like!) :D

Nope. So far, my finances have rendered me largely immune to the MilSurp Collectors Syndrome (MCS). :D

I actually was gonna type in a list of every minor rifle that I could think if that was used, but I figured that would be too obnoxious.

Darn, I forget the designation, but they had a number of WWII French Army rifles at the last gun show.

Nice condition, too . . . unfired, and only dropped once.

Hmmm . . . I'll have to see if Tamara started a similar thread over in the pistol forum. ;)

I'm getting there, but still have a little ways to go. So far, I've got a 91/30, M38, M44, Finn (SKY) M39, Type 99 Arisaka, Kar98K, M38 Carcano, and a Garand. Next in line will be an Enfield and then a MAS 36.

I got a main battle rifle from the Bigger 5 - K98, M1, M91/30, No.4 Mk.1 and T38.

Where did you find the Carcano? Been looking around, but haven't seen too many without prices in the clouds for beat up ones.

Seen a beautiful one for $125 at the last gunshow. My purchased guns gotta get shot, though (the T38 came with some others in a trade) so it stayed there.
