Ever get a gun as a birthday present?

I got a Remington Model 581 .22 rifle in 1968 for my 13th BD. This was my first gun. Unfortunately it was stolen in 1986 so I bought another like it. Not the same, of course.

For my 21st my mother bought me a Luger (1918 dated DWM). It was also stolen in the 1986 burglary so I found another of the same date and make. Again, not the same as having the original.

My wife has given me several firearms over the years as BD presents. A S&W Model 10-7 in nickel, a Winchester Trapper M94 in .44 Magnum, and a Colt New Service in 45 Colt among others.

For my 50th she didn't give me a new gun but she took one of my old ones (a 2" S&W M10) and sent it out for engraving (I had mentioned that I might like to have an engraved revolver). Also added ivory stocks and a deluxe carved belt and holster rig for it.

I bet a lot of folks here have gotten guns for their birthdays. Care to share some? Here's the fancy M10 my wife made up for me.

Many times. The way it works in my house is that I tell my wife I'm buying a firearm and it will be my birthday gift. She's OK with that approach. Sometimes it's a Christmas present, or an anniversary gift.

My wife got me a Savage 30G for my birthday two years ago. Turns out it's her favorite gun, and she claims it when we go to the range together.

twice.
My 11 birthday - Pioneer 22lr no bridge in the rear sight. i really learned Windage with that.
My 48th birthday 3 years ago - I took the wife to buy me a XD-40

My father purchased a Ruger P90 that was basically mine when I turned 17. I loved my his Colt Combat Commander, so he got me my own .45. That was 11 years ago, and it's now my car gun. Not hugely a fan of that pistol, though. The recoil isn't snappy enough for quick repeat shots, but it's reliable, at least. I may try putting a spring kit on it to see if I can get rid of that spongy recoil feeling.

I got this one as a combined birthday/Christmas gift a few years ago (my birthday falls in December).

I have a Beretta 12ga. Silver Pigeon that was a Chistmas present, and a Beretta 21a, too. But I think this was the only one that had "birthday" as a distinct part of the gift:

Pretty much the same thing for me.

I've only been into guns for a few years but that's pretty much what I ask for at Christmas/birthday time lately.

Beretta 391 Sporting shotgun in 2006.

CZ 75B in 2008.

STI Trojan 9mm in 2009.

My very first gun was a birthday present. It is a single shot .410 my mom and dad bought me for my 12th birthday. I have the gun and the video of the scavanger hunt my parents sent me on to find it.

I did get a rifle for Christmas this year-a Marlin 795. It wasn't my birthday, but it was someone else's :)

Also gave myself a .50 calibre on my 50th Birthday, a Blackpowder Hawkens copy. ( I couldn't afford a Barrett.:( )

My wife will never buy me a gun for my birthday.
She has no problem with guns, and even plans to get her CCW in the next couple of months once things settle down a bit. She is already picking out which gun she wants for her CCW!!! Very excited.

But, she'll never buy me one for my BD. Why? Because she came from a family where her father was a nasty, abusive (in every way imaginable) drunk. All he cared about was his guns, and drinking. So her mother just bought him guns for his BD presents every year. It was the only thing he ever wanted or loved.
So she won't get me guns because it's too close to the family she comes from. I can totally understand it.

Yep. One day my wife handed me a plastic H&K box containing a brand spanking new 9mm USP Compact.

Sadly, I lost it along with all my other firearms-related equipment, in a tragic boating accident.

I was given a Sheriden BlueStreak for my 6th birthday. (I still have it in my collection) For my 14th birthday, I recieved a H&R single shot 20ga. Topper. Sadly, It was stolen several years later. Since then, i started keeping my firearms in a safe. For my 38th birthday, my mother decided to surprise me with a custom Ruger Blackhawk .357 magnum. For my 39th birthday, my brother surprised me with a Norinco 98 12ga. I surprised my brother for his 37th birthday by locating, buying back, and then giving him the Remington model 700 ADL 6mm that had been passed along to him, but later sold to a mutual friend when he fell on hard times. It costed me $700.00 to get it back for him, but it was well worth it just to see the look on his face when i handed it to him. When we were kids, we helped our father completely customize and refinish it. When his son (my nephew) turned 13, i presented him with his very 1st "real gun", a Winchester model 190 .22 cal. semi-automatic, which is much nicer than his father's LOL.

My uncle gave me a Marlin Mountie for my birthday in 1963.

A couple of years before that my parents gave me a Savage Model 24 .22WMR/.410 and a year later a Fox Model B 12 ga. that beat the stuffing out of little old skinny pre-teen me.

I'm sure there are some more.

Oh heck yeah, in 2004 my father was 82 and he bought a new Guerini Woodlander 28 ga. O/U. We shot it at the range that summer and in September he gave it to me for my birthday. I think he bought it for me all along - I'd had back surgery in 11/03 and lost about 25 pounds from being laid up for 3 months.

P.S. - My dad's parents gave me a BB rifle with a wall rack and a big metal cleaning kit for my 5th birthday.

I got a Western Auto single shot .22 {NO serial #} for my 10th birthday.
The following year I took it to school for "show and tell".Yes, I still have it .

My mom gave me a Savage 24 for Christmas when I was 12.

My wife gets me a gun pretty much every Christmas and birthday. When I met her, she had never even touched a gun. But she bought me a pistol our first Christmas together 28 years ago. Okay, that first year for my birthday she bought me a skydiver's altimeter so I'd be safer on my way down. ;)
Back over the last few years she's given me; KelTec P32, WASR GP63, Walther PPK/s, Taurus P22, Browning BuckMark, Henry GoldenBoy. That doesn't count the many times I go to a gunshop, get home without buying anything, then she's sent me back to get what I saw and wanted.
