Ever get a gun as a birthday present?
I got a Remington Model 581 .22 rifle in 1968 for my 13th BD. This was my first gun. Unfortunately it was stolen in 1986 so I bought another like it. Not the same, of course.
For my 21st my mother bought me a Luger (1918 dated DWM). It was also stolen in the 1986 burglary so I found another of the same date and make. Again, not the same as having the original.
My wife has given me several firearms over the years as BD presents. A S&W Model 10-7 in nickel, a Winchester Trapper M94 in .44 Magnum, and a Colt New Service in 45 Colt among others.
For my 50th she didn't give me a new gun but she took one of my old ones (a 2" S&W M10) and sent it out for engraving (I had mentioned that I might like to have an engraved revolver). Also added ivory stocks and a deluxe carved belt and holster rig for it.
I bet a lot of folks here have gotten guns for their birthdays. Care to share some? Here's the fancy M10 my wife made up for me.
