If you want to do some customization in the future, look very, very hard at Springfield.

Agreed, there is a reason custom gunsmiths use Springers or Colts as base guns.

Springfield is never a bad choice.

Neither is Ruger; Bare bones Colt 1991 or a Remington base model

All are about the same price point.

The SA and Ruger CS is great.
