Just so y'know, that's not your usual MAADI... that one looks good. 
I love the design but hate the sights and general accuracy. I wish I could find one with a different rear sight set up and capable of routinely producing 3 MOA groups. I owned one of the Bulgarian guns once and just was not impressed with it's accuracy. Since then I have given up on them. jimmyp

You managed to find the absolute nicest Maddi ever made. That is like no Maddi I have ever seen.
I love AK's. Currently have three firearms based on the AK action. VEPR .308, VEPR II 7.62x39 and the afore mentioned boring SAR-1(which I thought looked pretty nice until I saw your Maddi

BTW jimmyp50, if you have an AK but want to replace the sights I can highly recommend MojoSights I just put a set of the microclick sights on my vz.24 and it makes a huge difference in the sight picture. I haven't decided if I'm going to replace the front sight yet or not. They make one for the AK as well, although they don't have the newer microclick model available for it yet.

Now, admar2 has shot it, but he never said it was boring. He only said he wanted something different. Chris, when you see it in person on Saturday, you'll become a believer.
I love the AK platform. I've got my SAR-1 and my new Romak SVD/AK hybrid, plus there's a Norinco NHM-91 inbound via FedEx to the local FFL for me. I'm also looking into buying several more in the not too distant future (side-folder, under-folder, wood furniture, polymer furniture). After that, I'll have to start with the 5.45's and then on to the 5.56's. Then there are the Saiga's in .308 and the shotguns too. Man, this AK bug is going to get EXPENSIVE!!!!!

Congrats on a great gun.
I love my MAADI and my buddy is quite enamored of his as well. Both are much nicer guns than any Romy SARs we have seen.
