BKF AR barrels

1moa guarantee
I didn't see that in the description, that's a pretty bold statement to make.

For $55 that looks like an excellent barrel.
Dimpled for a set screw is something I look for when selecting a barrel now even though I have dimple jigs.
And the gas port size is listed, which is something a lot don't do.
I don't want to have to buy a barrel and then measure the gas port size after I get it to find out what it is.
It lists as a .076" gas port (perfect for a 16" mid gas)

PT Barnum said it best..

Plenty of known barrel makers out there that dont guarantee that!

I mean, I'm not a sucker. I spent a whole $55 on a barrel and am taking a chance. Worst case scenario I report back here with dismal results to let others know and then buy a WOA, BA, or other barrel.

From their website:

"We guarantee 1 MOA or better on all BKF barrels when used with match grade ammunition. "

Looks like a good deal to me.

Kinda poking around the website it looks like the people running it might have overextended themselves cause there's a lot of closeout firesale prices but no way to be certain.

1 MOA ain't that great, or that hard to make a barrel that can these days.

More likely than not, they're banking on most people not running it with match ammo and calling it close enough, and swapping barrels for the few that do, and will bother going through the trouble of filing a claim until they're either satisfied or give up.

They're probably good enough for 95% of people searching for a 16" gov't barrel.

You are realy going to quote their web site to prove a point?

You are coming off as pretty argumentative and angry. I don't know what I did to upset you nor do I care.

I bought a cheap barrel to be a guinea pig. If your interpretation of this is that I'm naive or a sucker perhaps you can just move along and ignore it. We really shouldn't be infighting. We have enough enemies against the firearm world.

Have a good one

BKingsFirearms is a standup company. I have purchased from them in the past with no problems. Their service is excellent and quick.
Their target market are tacticool, and run fast. Not necessarily be still and shoot small.
They sell rebranded things, like many other retailers.
And as a retailer they market themselves as well. But high claims, with a disclaimer page, sticks in my craw, too.

They are not making these barrels.
These barrels are not Ballistic Advantage barrels.
They are not rejected barrels either, as there simply is not enough rejects to make that a thing.
They are simply barrels, from a supplier that probably produces them for several companies that make rifles too.
They are no more, nor less, likely to shoot better than any Mil-Spec, bog standard AR rifle.

As stated, barrels aren’t terribly difficult to make today, however these barrels are a quarter to a third the price of a BA or equivalent barrel. We can argue whether that comes from a reduction in quality or a reduction in marketing, but the shooting will tell the tale.

I would encourage reading the entire warranty page, found here https://bkingsfirearms.com/bkf-warranty/ , as it tells a larger story.
I am unlikely to make an agreement then let the other party decide if they wish to warranty it when failure happens. Especially when they state they don’t warranty the “system” in their barrel warranty.

Of course, I’m not the average knuckledragger that complains about the accuracy of a $55 barrel, shipped free. (Probably why the disclaimer…o_O)

That said, I would also encourage patronizing this company, any small business should be offered the traffic when they provide the same service as a Big Box.

Just don’t have rose colored glasses on with your wallet out…;)

I’m glad @VoodooMountain is taking a stab at one, as I’m curious, too. I hope it works out. No huge loss if not.
(It’s only 8 dozen eggs worth…:()

These a chance these could be made by bca, or possibly green mountain. Either way if so will shoot, for the money I'd try one just broke at the moment but do want to get a lighter barrel for my carbine.

I would try one .Most barrels are made by a reputable companies any way. Let us know how it shoots.I have used some budget barrels with good results my self!I went to the web site, they have other brand barrels a great prices .Ballistic adv. barrels at less than 1/2 off wow, thank you for the heads up !

I will add - and not that hard to achieve with less than premium ammunition. BKF seems to be hedging a bit by putting the ammo disclaimer in there, but they aren't the only mfg. I've seen do that.

If it doesn't work out you haven't invested a lot in the barrel and I know I always enjoy tinkering around with lot of AR configurations and parts from mfgs. to see what I can get them to do. Good luck with it.

I’ve gone though a whole bunch of cheap AR barrels and sometimes they shoot 2 or 3 moa, and sometimes you get lucky and they shoot moa. Sometimes you get a $250 barrel that will only shoot 2 moa. If you want guaranteed precision you have to pay a lot of money for it, or you can try a few cheap ones and in my experience you will probably get lucky. I never have a problem selling used AR barrels so I’m not afraid of some trial and error to find the flower growing among the turnips.

I’ve found that with what I choose to shoot, MOA is achievable at times but certainly not a guarantee. Then again, I don’t run a full precision rig in any of my configurations. So maybe $55 instead of $150 for a BA (what I currently shoot in most) is money better spent. I do know the Wilson air gauged barrel I have runs rings around the BAs for not much more.

My main concern with any barrel, accuracy aside, is how long it will last and is it safe.
