I had the honor to recently purchase a used Sig P220. But waited till today to range test it.
It's my first used gun and I was hesitant. I learned from these forums.
The two most common guns with cult like followings were Sig's and Glock's.
Those two are the two majority holders in the local L.E. market.(Glock having the bigger chunk, mainly cause their price)

Range report:
My Glock23 was as usual inconsistent between the few shooters I shot with. Not the guns fault. The trigger is so alien to me. If you master it you have an accurate piece. (The trick being only letting the trigger out a millimeter for sequential shots) Double taps are the guns sweet spot though.
Also had the chance to break in two new mags. One being a modified G22 mag, 17+1. Dumped seventeen rounds of 40cal under 3 seconds. Like butter.

The Sig either matched or exceeded my expectations. All except the finish which seems not to like my body chemistry. Well the slide anyway.
Recoil felt considerably less then my Glock. Consistency and grouping was like nothing I've handled, short of a few full size 9mm's.

No malfunctions from either gun which is what I expected. Great day!!!

I too made a Range trip on Black Friday, the place wasn't too packed; shot 250 rounds of .45acp out of the 3 - 1911's, the NRA Hard Ball is still a worthy of the name "laser beam", the TLE ran smooth as butter with the recoil of a 9mm, the Mil-Spec Champion, had her drop in beaver tail removed for concealment, her smooth grips and lack of front strap checkering still give the recoil feeling of a .454 and the bark of a 12ga... shes my favorite BBQ gun, great carry piece, but I have tooooo much $$$ wraped into her now, so she's mostly a range gun for fun. Shot 24 rounds of .40s&w out of the XD, just to insure her reliability at 100%. Shot 27 rounds through the 9mm Aegis Kimber, she's still 100%, can't get used to those wood grips, hate to put rubber ones on a 'custom shop' gun, maybe some aluma grips in the future.

Didn't take any long guns out, it was enough of a spectical with 5 handguns :)

I think Sunday will call for a trip to the Trap Range.

Black Friday in review.. Up @ 9:00 to load up my SUV( a Hydrocarbon Powered Ecovehicle) with range gear. 10:00 @ the local mall to meet Glenn Beck, and have him sign his new book. 10:30 asked a few guys outside the mall where they got the Ron Paul "Stuff".(Signs ect..) 11:00 back home to put the Ron Paul Sign in my front yard!!!! 11:30 @ the range!!! 3:00 lets shoot the AR15 (Thanks, Bill and Hillary)..4:10 almost dark; Time to go:cuss:

Took my two sons out Friday as well. Shot two weapons I've had for a while. for the first time. One was a Rem. 870 12 gauge shotgun and the other was a recently purchased CMP Rem. 513T 22 rimfire. Both shot fine. In addition to that we took along a S&W 586, 686, and 617, a Beretta 92FS, and a Ruger MKII pistol. Our range was more crowded than I would have hoped, but we still had a great time.

my plan for a few weeks was to head out on friday (especially when the forcast came in for some nice and cool weather) but before i headed out i called my local range just to make sure they were open their regular hours and they told me there was at least a one hour wait -- this was, of course, good and bad news. i was bummed about the wait and missing my day of shooting but i was thrilled about the number of folks heading out to shoot. in any case, i decided to wait to head out until the middle of next week (it was raining today and the next couple of days). i'm kinda bummed for missing my black friday shoot... but there's always tuesday ;)

I visited the indoor range on Black Friday. Took my newest Colt .38 and my favorite old 6" Model 29. Lots of fun.

The range was busy - full of folks shooting them skinny black pistols. BIG piles of brass on the floor.
