I had the honor to recently purchase a used Sig P220. But waited till today to range test it.
It's my first used gun and I was hesitant. I learned from these forums.
The two most common guns with cult like followings were Sig's and Glock's.
Those two are the two majority holders in the local L.E. market.(Glock having the bigger chunk, mainly cause their price)
Range report:
My Glock23 was as usual inconsistent between the few shooters I shot with. Not the guns fault. The trigger is so alien to me. If you master it you have an accurate piece. (The trick being only letting the trigger out a millimeter for sequential shots) Double taps are the guns sweet spot though.
Also had the chance to break in two new mags. One being a modified G22 mag, 17+1. Dumped seventeen rounds of 40cal under 3 seconds. Like butter.
The Sig either matched or exceeded my expectations. All except the finish which seems not to like my body chemistry. Well the slide anyway.
Recoil felt considerably less then my Glock. Consistency and grouping was like nothing I've handled, short of a few full size 9mm's.
No malfunctions from either gun which is what I expected. Great day!!!
