Here's a fresh question on an old subject that's been argued long and hard, blackpowder vs. substitute.
Would you give up muzzleloading if the gov. outlawed blackpowder? Would you switch to a substitute? Would switching to a substitute maintain the satisfaction you get from loading a firearm they way our forefathers did? Do you love the smell of sulfur burning so much that you'd give it all up if you couldn't get blackpowder anymore?
I never thought I'd see the day but the weather is right for that to happen.
Under our present government there is a clear line between explosive/blackpowder and propellant/substitute and there are precious few of us that would be effected/affected by a complete ban on blackpowder.
The more I think about it the worse I feel. I know I can make my own but I don't relish the thought of saving my urine to make saltpeter. The worst part is that I don't know what to do about it.
