Which one should I get? I would be buying the most recent production and in the case of the LCP, I would add the Crimson Trace laser. Please use the poll to vote and feel free to post persuasive comments. Thank you!

I was just looking at both side by side the other day and I would go with the LCP. I really like the Bodyguard, but the laser is not easy to activate, especially in a self defense type of scenario. Also, if you like the idea of keeping the safety of the Bodyguard engaged when carrying, you should know that it is pretty difficult to disengage, especially in a self defense situation. Both feel like high quality guns.

but the laser is not easy to activate...

"Not easy" is understating it a bit, from my impressions, handling one exactly once. I thought it was bizarrely inconvenient.

Between the two, I like the Bodyguard better. It feels good in my hand and it benefits from having some pretty good ergonomics. Decent and easy to aquire sights are another big plus. It's DA trigger is lighter and smoother than that of the LCP or the KelTec P-3AT. Not a big fan of the laser (being somewhat less than intuitive to activate it), but it is useful as a training device when you practice dry firing along with quick sight aquisition. The safety is very stiff and noisy to operate but since the Bodyguard is DAO, I doubt if I would ever use it anyways. The gun is well made with quality materials used in its manufacture, with overall fit and finish very good as well.

I'm sure you will get much more people that chime in and say LCP over the Bodyguard since there are more LCP owners.

Both are very good pocket guns, handle them both and shoot them both if you can. Unless one was clearly superior (which isn't the case) then it should personal decision.

Back in December I personally went with the Bodyguard and feel I made the right decision FOR ME. I've shot my friends LCP a few times and never liked the way it felt in my hand. It felt just like my of P3AT which I was never fond of. The Bodyguard felt much better in my hand and the recoil felt more manageable. I have zero problems with the laser but I never use it anyways. I do agree with others in regards to a safety on the gun being loud and somewhat difficult to disengage, however again I don't plan on using it.

Best of luck on your decision, I'm sure you'll be happy with whichever one you choose!

I've held them both, but shot neither. The BG has a slightly longer trigger LOP that I really liked. BG has better sights. But size wise the BG is a tad longer.

I am liking the BG.

I have owned both and sold both.

I bought the LCP to hold me over until the BG came out (wanted a pocket gun when the BG was introduced at that years SHOT show). Was a great little gun, shot good groups with it and never had any feeding or reliability issues with it.

I waited months to finally get the BG. When I finally got it I shot literally 13 shots and the laser failed. It would turn on and off at random times all within 1 box of Win White box range ammo. Had 2 FTF in 50 rounds as well. Sent it back, they addressed all the issues and it shot fine.

I shot the LCP better. I felt that it was a more dependable gun than the BG. The BG's laser as people have pointed out is inconvenient to say that least. The CT on the LCP just feels right and you activate it right when you grip the gun. Trigger was shorter on the LCP, the BG felt like it didn't go off until it hit the back of the trigger guard.

My vote is the LCP. Just my .02
