So I want to put a linear compensator on a rifle but don’t want to cut threads in the barrel. Is there a way I can bolt on a set of threads to screw something like the KAW linear compensator on?
Will that come on done with higher volume shooting? Also how do you ensure proper alignment?Silver solder
...I suppose I could always get a thread cap if I decide I don’t want a muzzle device on the end anymore.Pony up for the threads, you'll thank yourself later. If it's a collectable or heirloom, don't do it. Were I to have it done, I would contact MachIV Shooter. If he doesn't want to do it, he could recommend someone he trusts.

That’s a neat idea!there was a company a few years ago that had an adjustable comp that was a shrink to fit set up using a heatable band , i can't remember the name though, just giving you that, so you can do a web search
Sounds like that’s out of my capabilities but if I took it to a gunsmith and told them I wanted to do that I’m sure they can figure it outDrill out the threads on the linear compensator to match the diameter of your barrel....thus making it a slip fit. Then drill and tap a couple set screw holes on the bottom side (6 o'clock) and use brass tipped set screws to secure it to the barrel.
