So I want to put a linear compensator on a rifle but don’t want to cut threads in the barrel. Is there a way I can bolt on a set of threads to screw something like the KAW linear compensator on?

There are clamp on muzzle devices out there and they do work. So far, I have only seen brakes though and not compensators.

Pony up for the threads, you'll thank yourself later. If it's a collectable or heirloom, don't do it. Were I to have it done, I would contact MachIV Shooter. If he doesn't want to do it, he could recommend someone he trusts.

...I suppose I could always get a thread cap if I decide I don’t want a muzzle device on the end anymore.

I have a Ruger American Ranch rifle in 450 Bushmaster. These usually come with a muzzle device but this one I have is a special run left handed version and it only came with a thread cap. I like it like that just fine. The gun does have some lively recoil though.

there was a company a few years ago that had an adjustable comp that was a shrink to fit set up using a heatable band , i can't remember the name though, just giving you that, so you can do a web search

Drill out the threads on the linear compensator to match the diameter of your barrel....thus making it a slip fit. Then drill and tap a couple set screw holes on the bottom side (6 o'clock) and use brass tipped set screws to secure it to the barrel.
Sounds like that’s out of my capabilities but if I took it to a gunsmith and told them I wanted to do that I’m sure they can figure it out
