I bought a S&W 642 on sale for $359 I originally wanted the 638 but this was on sale and was my second choice.
It shot great at the range and was fairly accurate.
I am fine with standard pressure Hornady 125 grain hollowpoints and the 110 grain Hornady hollowpoints are my second choice.
Recoil was not bad at all compared to a old S&W model 60 I had it was tame.
The rubber grips were comfortable and no thumb cut from recoil like I had with the model 60 with the small wooden grips it had.

My keltec p32 is still in repair I sent it April 3rd and once I receive I am selling it because it was a big disappointment to me and I have a great replacement for it which is this revolver.

heres some

I am enjoying my 642-1 pro. Accurate, and I forget it is in my pocket.

I may leave my other carry pieces home sometimes but my 442 is always with me,
only thing I did is put on the houge rubber grip, a little bigger to conceal but I can shoot it way better the the small grip..
Thinking of getting the 642 just because I like shiny things:)

a 642 is my normal carry as well. I found a video "Smith J frame trigger job" (sp?) on youtube. After about an hour I had smoothed the trigger greatly and brought the pull down from 14 1/2 to 11 1/2 pounds. Do the lighter bullets shoot low in your gun? I use 158 LSWSCHP and they shoot to point of aim, though they kick a bit.

Same here - the 642 is my EDC with Gold Dot 135gr +p. I practice with it using my 148gr double ended wadcutter hand loads and the gun is really quite easy to shoot accurately at 21 feet.

My 442 goes with me everywhere.

I use 158 LSWSCHP and they shoot to point of aim, though they kick a bit.

A bit? Lol, I'd say that's a bit of an understatement. I've got some BB 158 LSWSCHP +p rounds and I can shoot 4 or 5 before I call it quits.

One of these days I will buy a S&W 640 since I like alot of power in a small gun.
the 110 shoot little low and the 125 are spot on.
