My gun store had a sale on S&W 642 for $359 NIB with lock but the price is the best in the area since they sell for $400+ around here.
Took it to the range and it shot great the recoil was not bad I had no cuts since the rubber grip on it is good on my hand.It was accurate and it was the second time I shot a snubnose and this experience was better then the first snubnose I had which was a S&W 60 with wood grips that cut my thumb up and was ready to jump out of my hand.

The lock had no issues and it can be disabled so its a non issue I will buy another one maybe the 638 since they have that on sale and I like having single action as an option but the 642 has a good trigger so I could get that one again. If I ever have to move to a state like CA or somewhere like that they are legal to own and if I would get a carry permit there I would carry it.

Picked up a 642 (no lock) a few months ago and it has pretty much become my EDC due to the fact that it is so concealable. I shoot it reasonably well at SD distances. Paid just over $400 with the tax for it so I would say that you did well.

359 is a good price, I paid that for one about 5 years ago, sold it and bought another 2 years ago at 469. Now I see them right around the 400 range +/- 30
