Bought a Sig Sauer 1911 / 22

Two weeks ago I didn't even know this gun existed.

I Bought a Sig Sauer 1911 / 22




I took it to the range yesterday and put 100 rounds through it.

Not one problem.

It's sights were way off for me.

But Sig included everything I needed to change the front sight.

It's a really fun gun to shoot.

It s very accurate now.

I have a medium sized plastic box that I throw any extra ammo from my range visits.

One box for each caliber.

I just picked up the .22 box at shot from it ... totally a mixture of .22 ammo.

I bought it at Cabela's for $419 and it was packaged with a second magazine & a Fobus holster.

I'd seen it the day before at a gun show for $409, but it was in OD Green & I didn't want that color.

The slide is aluminum, I presume?

Does it shoot high? My P226 .22 kit shoots high because the sights are different from the 9mm slide. I've never liked that they didn't put the same sights on the .22 kit slide as the 9mm and .40 S & W. So, I'm wondering if this 1911 has the same issue. I've been circling one in my LGS for a while.

I wasn't paying attention and didn't notice the .22 part...

Needless to say, I was very jazzed that Sig 1911s could be had for $420! No problems from a Sig is to be expected, my friend! Some people say they have declined in their quality control -- which could really be said about any company these days -- but I have never had a single issue with my sigs. Grats on a good purchase!

How does it break down for cleaning? I was going to order a GSG 1911 in .22 form Aimsurplus today but something keeps telling me to wait??? Would like the Browning ( I think ) but their price is stupid IMO for a .22....yea I cheap....

SIG Sauer Mosquito, nuth said.

Then again the Mosquito is made by Umarex so the Original SIG Sauer is still good.

The Browning for whatever reason is smaller than an actual 1911.

Other than some cosmetic differences, the Sig 1911-22 is the same thing as the GSG 1911-22.

I've heard the SIG 1911-22 takes the same mags as the GSG. Is this true? If not now much for extra mags? The $25-30 for the GSG mags holds me back (I like lots of mags so I can load them in air conditioned comfort instead of standing at the firing line in 95+ degree heat stuffing mags).

GSG makes both theirs and Sig's. IIRC the brother of the head of Sig started GSG. However that breaks down, same pistol, different name and price.

I have the GSG version and it eats anything I put in it, including some old Federal Lightning that none of my other 22s like. It is not as accurate as my Buck Mark, but I'm still working with the different sights to get it dialed in and am trying some Hogue grips to see if it will help.

Just picked one up today for $375. I'll have to give it a whirl this weekend with a couple hundred rounds of .22.

Researched alot about the Sig 1911-22 and the GSG 1911-22. Looks like they are the same gun except for the grip panels and markings on the slide. From what I found the Sig prices around 50 bucks higher. The GSG has a one year warranty. You Sig owners- what is the warranty period for the Sig 1911-22? I have read in some places that it is lifetime.
