just wanted to give a boycott to Cheaper Than Dirt.

as of today, they emailed me stating that they had 9mm ammo.

when i eagerly went to their site, i saw that they were selling Tula (steel russian ammo) for $59.69 for a box of 50.

i will not pay these kinds of prices for "basement" ammo.

i ask all other "sensible" gun owners to boycott these animals too.

thanks,

snubs38+P

In another thread about ammo several of us stated Walmart in various parts of the US received 1000 boxes of 9mm and 45acp ammo at a single store in the market. Price for 50 was 19.84 for PPU/Partizan .45 from Bulgaria. Not inexpensive but not outrageous. Since I don't use 9mm I didn't check the price but suspect it is not a gouge.

Prvi is from Serbia...former Yugoslavia

Under $20 is cheap at any time for 50 .45ACP

I don't expect this thread to end well though. Pricing in this panic is very contentious oaround the web....

Used to be a good customer.

Haven't bought anything from them in five years.

Probably never will.

Never understood the name "Cheaper Than Dirt". I've never found anything on their website that I haven't found cheaper somewhere else. You don't have to worry about me boycotting them, because I've never felt the urge to pay their ridicules prices.

Three points:
1. There's never been anything cheap about "Cheaper Than Dirt"
2. I'd never put that steel crap in any of my 1911s
3. There will be idiots who will actually buy the stuff

Anyone with a pulse and an IQ with a positive number should realize that 9mm isn't so scarce that its worth over a dollar a round. (I recently picked up 2000 rounds from Freedom Munitions for about .26/round.) I'm in marketing and I'm amazed when I see retailers let short term greed drive decisions that alienate customers, but they have the right to be stupid.

well i dont like CTD either but i just got a 3 die carbide set for 40smith for $28
im not complaining

I purchased a Colt 6920 from my local store new out of the box for $1100. Cheaper than dirt had the same rifle for $3850 not to long ago. They have lowered there prices but they are still high

CTD is a crap company that I have refused to buy from for years. That said were multiple threads in various forums really needed?

Nearly $4k for a 6920? Yeah..I'll pass.

I'd pay $10-12 for a box of TulAmmo, but $60...they're nuts.

None of my 1911s have a problem with the Russian steel stuff, but they can happily sit in my safe collecting dust until things settle down. I think I've saved more money during this panic than ever before..lol

Time to get the shotguns out and destroy some clays.

I've never bought anything from Cheaper Than Dirt.

Why?

Because litterally everything I ever researched online that was available at CTD was (drum roll here) CHEAPER SOMEWHERE ELSE!

Including at many local brick and mortar stores.

Yep I agree boycott them. Their prices are outrageous! I will not pay that and they are just taking advantage of a bad situation.

Winner winner, chicken dinner - been that way since they opened years ago; even their surplus gear was cheaper at gun shows and pawn shops

Years ago I bought some stuff from Cheaper than Dirt. The products I received were built "cheaper than dirt". I have not had any reason to ever purchase another "cheaper than dirt" product.

I thought I had read in a post somewhere back during the last panic (cira 2008) that CTD and Sportsman's Guide both used these automatic price adjusters for products on their web sites......when sales of a particular item shot up the software would automatically adjust the price up to what the market would bear.

Snubs38+P, I stopped buying from Cheaper than Dirt at least a year ago, and I also deleted them from my e-mail list and doubt I'll ever buy from them again. They are definitely taking advantage of a bad situation, and they're are a lot of other fish in the lake.

No need to tell me to boycott them. I already am.

The moment I saw them first list AR magazines for $60, I knew I was done with them forever.

OK I think 20 post is enough if that.

If you want to discuss ammo, this belongs in General Handguns

If you want to rate a retailer, this belongs in that section.

If you aren't happy with prices, don't buy the ammo; don't come here and whine about it...especially not in Autoloaders
