You are correct, although I did find that of just the top 8 brady states, there is a statistically significant (p=.000331) 15.5% positive correlation of increased crime with increased score by the bradys. All other ways of setting up a sample yield less than 1 percent relationship to it.
Here is the comparison by ranking using the us census violent crime rankings in the upper left, with the lower left being scores versus per capita crime and the rightmost being just the top 8 gun control states:
Also, the lowest 8 violent crime states have brady numbers 12 or lower.
I love the charts.... anyway to impose each states initials instead of dots. It would really be a nice graphical way to represent a brady heaven such a my homestate NJ versus a brady hater state such as Lousiana.
by the way... maybe it is just me.... most likely is.... but doesn't that first chart look like a side view of a hunk of ballistic gelatin post test fire!
You have to keep in mind that this is a ranking by total idiots. They dont think like we do at all. Some things that are silly and not that big of a deal to us are a huge coup to them. They rate Oregon at 18 and one reasion is the state laws on defective junk that says the state, county, city or any person can sue a maker of substandard goods. Thats a you can sue a gun maker deal so thats lots of points to them.
They need to update Ohio. We got rid of local preemption. Let's hope that lowers our score! We are really no different than IN or KY now, in fact we are probably better than VA since we have no 'one gun a month' crap.
