We have all seen the disastrous effects that blogs have wreaked upon entire families, indeed entire communities. Lives not only ruined but lives lost due to the inherent danger and violence due to these death blogs, whose only purpose is to cause fear. How many of you have heard of unlocked computers, left open by negligent parents, whose innocent children find death blogs loaded with dangerous content? We have all, each of us, every one of us seen the terrible consequences of such irresponsibility, and it could have been prevented. Children do not deserve this, and it is up to us to stop it.

Statistics easily show how dangerous these death blogs are. All death blogs are designed to incite violence and can be used to not only attack one person, but large groups of people as well. An entire workplace, or even a jury panel can be the target of these things, leaving destruction in their wake. People form gangs and use these death blogs to attack innocent victims who do not even know their assailers. These gangs even turn their death blogs on each other, killing dreams and egos. Death blogs will pierce their victims, pushing them to emotional, as well as financial ruin. Even worse than this, however, is the statistically measurable and inherent tie between death blogs and suicide. So long as we allow death blogs, we will have to watch our neighbors, friends and sometimes our own families cope with the terrible remorse and soul-searching that suicide causes. No one should ever have to suffer the pain of a loved-one's suicide. Death blogs encourage suicide.

Some people may say that the phrase "death blog" is redundant. I want everyone to know, without compromise or claims to ignorance, how fatal and destructive these things are, and "death blog" is exactly the term that fits these massively destructive monstrosities.

I am not saying that I want a total ban on the freedom of expression. It is an important, inviolable right to allow free expression. The framers of our constitution, however, could not foresee the terabytes of information screaming across our country like a terrible cry for mercy. Reasonable, common sense death blog laws are not only allowable, they are necessary to the safety, health, and peace of every freedom loving American. One of the worst features of death blogs is how many people they can hurt at once. A smart, reasonable move is to limit death blogs to one post per week, with no more than ten visitors during that week. No reasonable person, with good intentions, needs to post faster than that, and the only reason for allowing more traffic would be perpetrate mass attacks.

Another common sense law is doing away with colors, soft-edged graphics, and any other traits or images that could make these death blogs dangerous through a disingenuous aesthetic appeal. Furthermore, what honest American citizen would want to put children in danger? All visitors to these sites should have to use a Real ID to verify, via a fast and easy database check, that they are over the age of 18 in order to ensure that they are prepared to responsibly view these death blogs. The posters, too, must be held accountable for their death blogs. This is plain common sense, with which everyone can agree. With a Real ID database already in place, it will be a simple, low-cost step to include a check that the posters themselves are over 18, and for some of the most dangerous death blogs at least 21. We need to protect, love, and nourish our children, and who can reasonably argue against that?

Some will argue that any law is a bad law. Activist Judges may try to trample upon the American democracy. Others will try to slander us for their own political goals. We know and must remember that these are different times than any that have come before. Now is the time for us to make the world a better place. We simply want to create a world that we are proud to leave to our children.
