In an ammo can of junk I picked up at a yard sale I found a little 100 count tin (unfortunately empty) That is actually of brass or copper. The lable is mostly illegable but the words are arced over the top of lable "Percussion caps" and in the center is the number 100 and what appears to be a "D" in a square. A soft cloth made a little difference, a slightly damp rag made a little more but a mild soap did nothing more. It appeaerd to hace some sort of wax coating that I found you could scrap off, but unfortunatly te paper lable stuck to the bit of wax I scaped to find that out.
Any one recently made brass cap tins? Any idea what the can might have been.
Current plans are to leave it alone, including tarnish and display it with "The Clunker" Of BTW the Klunker now seems to have a chipped trigger. Mayhaps I can find some parts at a Sutler's tent at Olustee this weekend.
