I have a couple Ithaca 37's that I like a lot. one has a full choke barrel and the other has improved. I also have a extra full choke barrel and a model 51 with modified choke, the gunsmith I talked to told me they were to thin for him to thread them but told me about briley thin wall chokes. Has anyone on here had any experience with these chokes?

Briley, Carlsons, and others offer thin-wall choke systems.

The limiting factor is whether or not you will ever want to use steel shot or Magnum loads. The thin-wall tubes are not rated for either.

Carlsons says minimum muzzle measurement is:
12 ga. lead shot and steel shot system = .825".
12 ga. lead shot system only, no magnum loads or steel = .805".
