That's about what I've seen in my experience as well.

Personally, I shoot them a little further forward. I don't like them to make it out of their own shadow, and I'll sacrifice the off shoulder for that to happen.

i like to shoot out the shoulders all the important organs are behind it, they cant run far with no front legs and it seams to be a drt with most deer. it may mess up some meat but the deer does not have all the Adrenalin in the blood, i think this makes the better eating.

At the range most of mine are shot in the thick stuff, its a neck shot.

Put a bad shot in one around here, and you will soon find yourself in triple canopy swamp with the skunk ape and hoping you aren't either snakebit or on your way to being gator poop.

If there's Gators, I'm not going to be there unless I drive a swamp buggy.
