I don't know what it is that appeals to me when it comes to those older boxes . Is it just the memories or was the packaging & colors just that much better ?
I had a good many older boxes I gave to my brother when he started collecting old ammo. I still have a few boxes of this type that are also in mint condition ,and I can't bring myself to shoot them.
Nice find. I bought almost a full brick of the Super X in that same box style (shorts). I got them at an auction a few years back for $1 a box at the time. Nice to see this stuff preserved.
Pretty cool acquisition. I used to buy older 22 ammo, but I didn't see any great potential in collecting it other than it's fun and fits with my interests. I wouldn't mind having a couple boxes of the Kleanbore and Super X if for nothing else as props in pictures.

That was my plan, too. Just tried to buy a box or two.
But the seller said he had multiple boxes and no use for it and gave me a super (X) deal.
Currently the old stuff is selling from $15 to $20 per box depending on condition.
A few years ago a friend of mine gave me several boxes of Remington Kleanbore rimfire ammo along with some in .32 S&W and .32 ACP. Someone else had given the ammo to him and he was going to get rid of it because he didn't have any guns in those calibers. I was more than happy to take it as I love the look of those vintage boxes.
