I was perusing GunsAmerica last night and took notice of the Browning BARs. I thought, "dang, that's one nice looking rifle". Any BAR owners here? How are they in terms of accuracy, triggers, ruggedness, reliability, etc? Could they be consideration as a survival/shtf type rifle? Thanks.

Better get on the waiting list now, the next 2 production runs are spoken for (they say they run a batch of receivers every 18 months or so).

I've had one of the original BAR hunting rifles in .30-06 since the late '60. (Minus a couple of years when I had an attack of bad logic and my brother had it. Luckily, his truck needed some work and I got it back.) It's a Grade II rifle with a little bit of engraving on the receiver. I had a Weaver 1.5 to 4.5 scope on it for years. Now the scope is a Tasco 3-9.
It has taken deer, bear,and coyote for me and my Dad shot an antelope with it on a trip out west.
With Remington factory 150 grain Core-Lokt PSPs it shot 100 yard three-shot groups of an inch and and eighth consistently for years. A couple years ago I loaded the same bullets into some PMC cases with a bit more powder than I normally use and put three shots into one inch at 100 yards.
I was looking for a good deer rifle back in the '60s and read reports that the BAR was more accurate than the Winchester 100 and the Remington 742. I also liked the way it looked better. They are good rifles.
