Anyone have one? I got one as a graduation and going into the military gift way back when. Still have it after all these years and everything that comes with it.

So recently I bought another one because it looked in okay condition. It was missing the spikes and the pouches that attach to the sheath but I knew that going in.

Trying to pick them up on Ebay is near impossible, everyone else is looking also! That and being sure that the parts are authentic Buck parts is another issue.

If you have one, post up a pic. Here's the one that I picked up.

Good thread!
But we don't solicit buy and sell in the discursion forums so I deleted the solicitation.
You can post a wanted to buy thread, in the new trading post non firing weapons forum.
Good luck and I will post this on a local forum, you never know!

Thanks for the heads up, didn't know that I couldn't add that into the discussion.

I vaguely remember those from back in the day. Never owned one though. What year did you get it. IIRC those were 1980's maybe 1990's knives. But my memory may be way off.

I think the first ones came out in '83-4, I got mine in '85. There was a dedicated website for them, not sure if it's still up.

From what I've read, the original version (pre patent) had the compass in the pommel. Due to it being steel, that idea didn't last and Buck did a quick change by adding a compass.

My version is with the added compass but its still a pre patent. I think there's a couple minor changes up to the version with "buckmaster" in the blade. After that I believe they were discontinued.

I found a good one a few years ago on a local classifieds site and I made a deal for it. I really enjoy having it in my collection - it is one that everyone wants to handle and check out.

Yours looks good, what all did you get with it?

I'm still watching Ebay for the two pouches for the sheath and the spikes.
