I have always heard that Bud's Gunshop does drop shipping. Last week I put a Glock 19 G4 and an SKS on layaway (a bit of panic buying I must admit) At the time they were both in stock, of course. Now they are not. I paid by CC so my payment would post immediately to "hold" my gun

If Buds does drop shipping, I assume they do not have a SKS and Glock in the back with my name on it. With these models becoming a little scarce right now how does my "reserved" gun work? Is it actually held with Buds or a distributor, or are they hedging their bets that they will be in stock when I pay the off?

I've bought a number of guns on layaway from bud's. Though Bud's is local for me and I buy in the store it works the same as on the internet buys. They put your gun away until it is paid so if they run out you still get the gun you either picked out in my case or the one they picked to send in yours.

some are in stock. some are drop shipped. they will contact you if there is a problem.

I put an AR and AK on layaway on election night, I used epayments to get the cash price. Once I paid off the balance they shipped, done that with them on several guns all went very smoothly.

I've got a Glock 19 that I just paid off that has moved to shipping but has no tracking number yet. I attribute that to the volume of sales they and every other online dealer has experienced lately. I'm sure they will contact you if there is a problem. Keep us posted on how you make out and Happy New Year!

Internet banter and opinion polls are the source of all reliable knowledge.:banghead:

It is held for you by buds or the distributor and secured by your cc & the cancellation & restock fee that'll be imposed if you try and weasel out. So no worries, you'll get it or you'll get charged for not getting it.

Why on earth do people ask a question like that about a business on a forum?? Sheesh, call or email the business!

Sheesh, lay off the guy.

The same can be said for many questions here on THR. Personally I trust the word of the customers more than from the business itself. That's why sites like Amazon have customer review sections.

On top of that he asked his question yesterday after Bud's was closed and I imagine they are closed today as well. He got his answer quicker by coming here.

Those of us with recent experience with a buds layaway that was drop shipped provided a reasonable answer to his question.

Op, make paying off and getting the SKS your priority!

Why in the world would someone respond to a thread that bothered them? All they have done is bumped it back to the top.

If you had spent the time looking at my post instead of just complaining for no reason you might have noticed I posted that on NYE and obviously they will be closed the next 2 days. Also if you would pause from complaining long enough to keep up with current events you might realize the wait time on hold with Buds is extremely long. I actually have a job during normal hours so I can't spend all day on hold. They have a notice on their website that calls and EMAILS will NOT be returned in a timely manor

Sheesh, got any more comments about things you know nothing about?

I will call later in the week. It amazes me how many people have no idea how forums work? This is a place for discussion. It doesn't mean this is the final answer, it is just a way to find out from others. If you don't like the discussion move along. One day maybe some of you will learn of to operate in a message board

Thanks to all of you that took the time to respond with your experience

Would you like some cheese with your whine?

Move along thread troll, there's nothing to see here. Others are providing info that many people, other than just the OP, are benefiting from, or will at some point in time benefit from. When somebody asks a question of a large forum like THR, the responses (not ones like yours, of course) are helpful to many who search in the future.
