If TWO Glock 19s are your BUGs, then what's your primary? Man, you are one armed-to-the-teeth man. Congrats on surviving that. Quite an amazing story.

Well, the left gun is the backup, in theory. Oddly enough, I've always considered my knife to be my primary weapon.

Awesome. +1 for pics of the weapon at least

There really isn't much to show. The weapon is undamaged, really. It was just the paint or whatever the coating is that got scraped off. I cleaned it up and touched it up this morning.

Make them buy U a new holster too

They wrote me a check for the 'damages' this afternoon. It was a thrift-store coat, but they paid full retail! Party-party!

So, I guess that the caution tape was there for a reason.

Yeah, it was just in the wrong place. ;)

btw what is your profession? If you are a lawyer it would explain why the workers were fired.

Computer geek & part time trainer. This being the High Road, I don't suppose that I can say, "If I was a laywer, I'd shoot myself.", can I?

You carry two Glocks?

Being ambidexterous has its advantages. Sometimes life is too short to reload.

I would take pics and send them to Glock though... 15 minutes of fame and who knows what else?

I'd rather be rich than famous. Not that I'll get either one out of this. ;)

You must have blown through a whole lotta luck.

It occoured to me right after lunch to go buy a lottery ticket. Here's hoping.

Nah, you used all your luck already. Go to buy a lottery ticket and the place would probably catch on fire with you in it.

DAng I have some idea of what happened to you. In my youth I put steel sheets on pole buildings. Had a 12-14ft sheet 3ft wide slide off and catch me. On my hammer and knocked me down. Roof was maybe 8' high so not much momentem. A 35' from second story. UFTA. Glad you are ok.

If it was a 1911, it would have broken the metal. You would have been able to remain standing as the sheet of steel disintegrated at your feet. :D

....

I have my doubts if this is true or not. Do you have any pics?

(I usually do doubt the "it happened to me" threads on here I just keep my mouth shut.)

Glad to hear your ok.

Send a copy of this letter to GLOCK, they should send you a "GLOCK saved my life T shirt" or something.

Glad to hear you're OK. That had to be a scary moment. I'd love to see the pics of the gun and holster- and I agree that Glock would probably love to hear your story, might even get a professional refinish out of it at least.

2nd the call of BS

Something about this story just is not adding up. Sorry to doubt..but this is the internet and all. Show us some pics.

As the safety director of a construction company, I can tell you that right at this moment, somewhere in the greater New Orleans area, the panicked owner of a roofing contractor is on his knees praying to God that you don't file a lawsuit, and that OSHA never hears about this incident.

As far as firing the crew? That's a given. There's no excuse for losing control of materials like that, and there's definitely no excuse for failing to control access immediately under the work area. (and no, a single strip of barricade tape is not adequate control)

Hell, I'm irritated just thinking about how sloppy that was.

Wow, seems as though everyone thinks a story is full of BS if they don't see a picture. As of the previous post, not only are "we" saying it could be bs...but that the story is bs and the op was just looking for some attention.

Could it be bs...sure, as could every other friggin thread on the forum that doesn't have any pictures(even pictures can be fabricated). Can we all just back off with bs calling crap...

Let the man be happy he's alive and well after his accident.

p.s. pictures would be nice...but I don't need to see them to believe you...I'm just nosey.

Regards,
