I was wondering if you can put bulk military 30-06 [7.62x51?] in a hunting rifle[actual 30-06]. I only ask this because of problems people have reported with putting 5.56 in a .223 rifle.

two other questions. Is their a cheap 30-06 lever? second is if a bolt action gun will work for getting rid of willy coyotes [ :) ] in the middle of the night.

Yes they are interchangable.

Only times where it is a problem is in some old mil-surp rifles that wont last long when using hot loaded .308 Win.

I'm confused - Which round are you talking about?

7.62 x 51mm = .308

7.62 X 63mm = .30-06

in either case it's completely safe to fire either in a commercial rifle of the contemporary equivalent chambering.

Going the other way and shooting commercial ammo in a military rifle however is very bad practice, particularly in the case of the M1 Garand

Will a 30-06 bolt gun work on coyotes? I'm not talking if the bullets good enough, I'm talking about the actual bolt action. I've been shooting at coyotes for the past 3 weeks, and was hoping my future deer rifle will be able to take care of them.

Lever in 30-06 available anywhere?

Why would it matter? I assure you that the yote you nail with an 06 will be the last being to worry about the action used

Browning BLR

however it has about as much in common with a "leveraction" as a Camry has with an c130

Both have levers that operate the action and use rifled barrels

and both have tires and use windshield wipers when it rains respectively

WOW. I looked up the BLR. i think your descriptions right with the camry and the c13 description. WHY would you want a lever action with that kind of box magazine. Though if it had a bigger magazine capacity it would remind me somewhat of the knoxx sidewinder for the Mossberg 500.

Thanks for the info guys.

Not that I'm aware of. The most common has already been mentioned, the Browning BLR.

Winchester (and Browning) have made reproductions of the Winchester 1895 in .30-06 which have modern steel receivers. These are no longer manufactured, but you can find them on sale occasionally for $1400-1600 or so. (You should be careful of some original 1895's in .30-06 -- the steel wasn't as good and the bolts can actually shorten from extended use, resulting in unsafe headspace. At least, I read a report that claimed this could occur.)

If you think the BLR looks funny, you should see a 1895. It has a built-in box magazine, one of the first lever-actions to be able to handle spitzer (pointed) bullets, which were coming into favor for military use at that time.

Anyway, that's the general answer to why you would want a lever action with a box magazine. Until Hornady's recent Leverolution ammo, you couldn't use spitzer bullets in a lever-action, due to the danger of detonating primers on recoil. (Or dropping the rifle...) The box magazine designs, while ugly, were functional.
