Picked up a few more Precision Delta 115 grain 9mm bullets today, but I have no powder.

Checked a couple local shops and none of them had any type of pistol powder, but all had various rifle powders in stock.:banghead: Only found one place that even had small pistol primers in stock. But again, everyone had plenty of rifle primers in stock.

Going to check a few more shops for powder over the next few days.

What powder do you all recommend for the 9mm in case I come across something? The more names you give me, the more options I will have to look for.......

Alliant: Unique, Bullseye, Red Dot, Green Dot

Accurate: No. 2, No. 5, No. 7

Hodgdon: Titegroup, HP-38, HS-6

Ramshot: Silhouette, Zip

Winchester: Autocomp, W231

viking499, do you live near a Bass Pro?

They'll ship powders hazmat free to store if you order from their web site. You just have to be vigilant on watching for their powder when it is in stock.

Cabelas might do the same.

Thanks for the info so far guys.

The closest Bass Pro to me is in Cincinnatti.

Right now American Reloader.com has 8# bottles of CSB-1 For $172 with 20% off. CSB-1 is made in spain and is a really good Powder, they tell you to use unique load data with it.. personly I think its the cleanist burning Powder I have used and I am getting great velocity and accuracy with it.I hope I can get more of it when I use up my 8lbs... just sayin. Good stuff as good as vihveurta or better...really..

I know it doesn't help your current circumstances, but we are seeing all kinds of powder out here. I was just in one of my LGS's today and saw all the popular handgun and rifle powders. Things are coming around, I saw Longshot, HS6, Autocomp, Titegroup, Clays, and either HP38 or 231, don't recall which, and some other good one's as well. The shelves were looking very much like they did in the good ol days.

As far as primers are concerned, we have them all.

Just keep your eye's open. But then again, I know not where you live, or whether you have any decent shops in your local.

Viking, I'm not sure exactly where you are, but I see you mention Cincinnati. keep an eye on country attic in south Lebanon. They have all the Hornady bullets in stock all kinds of primers and limited powder. They said they are expecting a 3,000 lb shipment from hodgdon sometime January. Like them on Facebook for updates.

I just picked up 1000 primers. Might have found some 231 powder. Will report back......

If you found W231, you are my new hero. I have been reloading for 3 years now and have yet to see it for sale anywhere... At least long enough to snag a pound or two.

Primers, bullets., etc. are all over the place. Powder is coming into the supply chain. Several Hodgdon powders have arrived from Australia and should be hitting the retail supply chain in the next few months

Time for me to be somebodies hero.:D

Stopped by a little hole-in-the-wall place today and left with some powder.:D:D

2 pounds of 231 and 1 pound of Unique.:D:D:D

You got lucky. I haven't seen a pistol powder at my store in 8 months.

It was so bad I had to fork over $200 for a jug of 7625 that had been collecting dust on a top shelf.

You got lucky. I haven't seen a pistol powder at my store in 8 months.

I was in Lexington yesterday and saw nothing in the way of pistol powder in the 4+ stops I made.

That's why I thought I had better get all three pounds today. Who knows when I will see it locally again. That and I scored another 1000 primers, so I needed the powder to match.

Now, I need some more boolits.

International, Universal and soon, Clays are here and in the pipeline. Remember, however, that us mere mortals on the retail end are far removed from the huge backorders placed by ammo makers, wholesalers, etc.

It may take a few 40,000 containers to fulfill that and have it get to a store near you. I suspect by mid 2015, it will be back to normal - assuming the pistol guys stop hoarding my shotgun powder! LOL
