I'm looking to develop a load for my 300 Win Mag. I found some good load data from Alliant. They are recommending Speer 150, 165 and 180gr BTSP bullets. I'm not finding those but i have found some Sierra Match King 180gr SBT bullets. Would these be interchangeable?

Yes, and no.
They aren't 'recommending' Speer bullets.
Alliant data is coupled to Speer bullets because they are sister company's owned by ATK.

Or better yet, buy a recent reloading manual published by Sierra!!

What are you trying to do with the .300? Paper or hair?

My pet load is a 200 gr Nosler Partition with a near max load of RL22.

It has acceptable accuracy - but I like Nosler partitions on game. There are more accurate bullets - mostly for paper. There are better game bullets - but they cost 2x or more than what the Noslers cost. So for me, the partiton is optimum balance between cost/accuracy/performance. YMMV.

I like Berger bullets for 300 WM. The VLD's are very accurate for punching paper and we have had very good results on elk and Oryx as well. Depending on the rate of twist of your barrel you may be limited to certain weight bullets. Mine in a 1:12 twist which pretty much limits me to 185 gr. or less with Berger's. I have had good results with both IMR 4350 and R-22.

Been doing real good with 208 hornady bthp or amax. H1000 loaded just under 2800fps. High BC does real well at 1000 yds. Set to .030 off the grooves. Rifle is a factory remington 700 sendaro 1 in 10 twist.

I have a Winchester Model 70. I happen to have some Reloader 17 on order so i am going to try to develop a load. I know that RL19 or 22 would be better but RL 17 seems to be popular for 180, 168 and 150gr bullets. Just trying to find some economical bullets to try for load development.

Thanks for all the input!

Looks like grafs has some 168 and 150 options. I will eventually make my mind up and try something.
