I've scoped lots of rifles before but never an AR. So I'd like some opinions from those who have concerning the suitability of the high Burris Zee Rings in the following application:

Rifle: Factory stock Palmetto A3 flat top rifle with stock handguard and FN marked barrel. Stock Palmetto A2 lower and buttstock.

Scope: Bushnell Elite Tactical 5-15 x 40mm Adjustable Objective. http://www.opticsplanet.net/bushnell-matte-elite-tactical-5-15x40-argon-ao-mildot-riflescope.html

Question: Do you think the zee rings be high enough to accomodate the 40mm objective lens of this scope in this application? I use them a great deal with bolt guns, but the AR's high handguard has me wondering if the Zee rings will be high enough in this application. Thanks very much.

The Zee rings won't be high enough, but the 1" high XTR rings will work perfectly. It's not the scope clearance that is the concern, it's getting the scope high enough to get a proper cheek weld.
