Hi Everyone,

A while back I posted about having my daughter use my AR-15 for deer hunting this year. We've been out to the rifle range and she's done well with the gun as usual. I have noticed though that she's working hard to get the gun to fit her. I was just at a gun store earlier this morning and was looking at a Bushmaster Carbon-15 that had a red dot on it and it was super light. They were asking $699. I think this gun would be a "perfect" match for my daughter on initial sight, but I plan to bring her in to see how it fits her. My question is has anyone had any experience with these "carbon" lower's and light weight AR's? I'm just wondering what people's thoughts are? I am not expecting this gun to get a lot of volume of shooting through it. I am thinking this will be primarily a hunting, target, and mild range gun. Thanks for your input. :)

My brother has one that I have shot quite a bit....It functions flawlessly and is very accurate. I guess it's a serviceable weapon. That being said, the trigger is horrible, the furniture is cheap looking and flimsy, it's no where near mil-spec, and it just plain feels cheep. My brother said if he could do it all over again he'd just get a standard AR for about the same price.

Just one mans opinions......many folks are happy with their carbon 15's.

Well, we ended up buying if for my daughter. The weight is very manageable for her, but also the size of the gun is slightly smaller than the standard Bushmaster "Patrolmen's Carbine". It had a Bushnell Trophy red dot on it that came with it.
