You have to do more than just register it before you can legally SBR it.eric_t12 said:The full-size pistol version, so all it needs is to be registered and i can put a stock on it to SBR it.

Unfortunately, to add a stock or vertical fore-grip legally, you must register the pistol as an AOW (Any Other Weapon). This is a $5 tax stamp, not a $200 one.
Depending on where you live, you may be SOL though. No AOW are allowed in Michigan, for example
To construct an AOW it is a $200 tax just like a SBR. It is $5 to transfer one on a form 4.Unfortunately, to add a stock or vertical fore-grip legally, you must register the pistol as an AOW (Any Other Weapon). This is a $5 tax stamp, not a $200 one.
He said he bought one from Coharie not Bobcat.Sorry, I don't trust a business that has to change it's name every few months to stay one step ahead of the mad customers. Aren't they now Red Rock arms as well?
soooo rightthe SBR MP5's , even clones, look soooooo cool
They are great, I have a ca89k and its a early one with a 2 digit serial number, let me tell you it works more reliable than my old hk94 i had! It's already all paid for, i'm just waiting for the little guy to arrive atmy FFL.

truly sweet...
I just had to gloat
What if you remove the stock on a SBR? would you be in possession of a unregiserd AOW???To construct an AOW it is a $200 tax just like a SBR. It is $5 to transfer one on a form 4.
& You may not put a stock on an AOW. That would make it a SBR & thus you would be in posession of an unregistered SBR.
