Buying a lightweight J frame... hammer or no hammer?

One of each must be a good idea. I have both, but I'll likely give one to my daughter (her choice). Both have good triggers, better than the 5 or 6 Chiefs Specials that have passed through my hands all of which received trigger jobs. They have become my favorite "J" frame.

an S&W 642 (centennial), with a wolfe spring kit and a bit of time with a stone on the rebound slide and DA sear make for a VERY tolerable trigger pull for a newer J-frame.

tis what sits in my pocket nearly every day, and sits on the dresser every night.

My wife, who has difficulty with some DA trigger-pulls, has no trouble at all with my stock, recent-production non-lock 442. IMO, It's a near-perfect pocket-gun.
