Hello,
I'm about to purchase a CZ-75 SP-01 (non-tactical, with manual safety) for HD/Range duty. I already have a Glock 19 for concealed carry.

Can anyone suggest a good source for extra 19 round magazines? I want factory quality reliability and I want to start stocking up now.

Not to be flippant, but just go to CZUSA, give them a call. They have an excellent customer service dept. I ordered a few mags, spare recoil spring & guide rod etc for my P01 last yr and received the order 3days later!

I'm happy to buy direct from CZUSA - I was just curious if

a. an aftermarket manufacturer might make their factory mags, branded differently at a lower price

b. an independent online retailer might stock the mags at a cheaper price

Obviously, the tried and true route is to buy from CZ directly but I would be buying 4-6 mags and if I could save somey money, I will.

Yep, I know what you mean. I just try to stick with factory mags in most everything after buying a Pro-Mag magazine for my Browning HiPower. I stay away from Pro-Mag, period!
You could try Mec-Gar, they make the factory mags for so many, CZ included.
the reason I specified CZUSA was due to the good experience I had with them and the three day turn-around after placing a phone order.

Angus Hobdell/Ghost Products Inc carries SP-01 mags and various other CZ mags, accessories, etc., though I'm not sure how the price they have ($45/ea) compares to getting them direct from CZ.

CDNN is a good source for standard CZ-75 16 round mags that will work just fine in an SP-01. They carry Mecgars for a better price than CZ USA or most secondary distributors, usually.

Thanks for all the sources guys-

I know 16 round mags are probably enough for any real-life situation, but with looming gun control legislation ( :uhoh: paranoid gun/freedom-nut) I'm more interested in the 19 round OEM-sized mags.

I found this at Ghost Products as recommended by HorseSoldier:
CZ 75 TS or IPSC 9mm 20 Rnds
[CZ TS Mag 9m] $50.00
Magazine for the CZ75 Tacical Sport 9mm Model
1. Why would these by for the "tactical" model only? (the CZ-75 SP-01 and the CZ-75 SP-01 non-tactical both carry 19+1/19 round mags) Is this a typo?

2. Why are these sold as 20 round mags when both models of the CZ-75 SP-01 9mm (tactical/non-tactical) both take 19 round mags?

3. What does "TS or IPSC" mean in this context? I know IPSC is a competition or sorts...Might this just mean "competition legal"? These are still CZ branded mags, right?

thanks for your help
(yes, I will call/email the retailer but it's post-business hours and I like to be armed with info before calling - thanks)

The "Tactical Sport" model is built on a frame with a WIDER magazine well, which allows the 20 rounds to fit in a shorter "stack," and its mags will not fit in the SP01; the SP01 19-rd. mags are basically CZ75B mags made slightly longer(but not wider) to hold the extra 3 rounds. Standard 16-rd. mags will fit flush with the bottom of the grip(i.e. better for CCW) - the extra-thick "baseplate" of the SP01 mags is where you get the extra room.

Ok, so I plan to stock at least a few of the 19 rounders but seeing as the 16 round mags are cheaper and fit the SP-01, I will probably buy some of these as well. I find it strange they would advertise the gun to take 19 rounds if the mags hang out the bottom of the grip.

Is there any advantage to the 16 round mags in an SP-01 in the sense that it would make the gun smaller overall? If I were to carry it, would 16 round mags make the gun print less?
