I want to apply for a C&R license, but I have a potential problem.

I attend college full time about four hours away from where my "permanent address" is physically located. I am at school year-round, with trips back home 1-2 times per month (research job on campus). I am registered to vote in my hometown, and I have a permit to acquire pistols and revolvers issued in my home county.

My question is this: Will I be able to get a C&R license if my "official address" (hometown, ID, taxes, etc) differs from my physical address (college town, bills, phone number)? I gather that a C&R does not require a "storefront", but does require an actual permanent location. Am I way off? Should I/ can I even apply?

I know a bunch of you are experts at this stuff, so thanks in advance.:)

Which chief law enforcement officer are you going to file a copy of the application with?

I'll be at school for a few more years (I'm a PhD candidate), so I would like it if everything could be handled in the college town. This is where my question comes into play. Will it be possible to recieve a C&R with my residency situation? Do I need to do 2x the paperwork? etc.

File where your drivers license is from. School can be a temporary address. You will still be a C&R so your license will work wereever you happen to be for the purchase.
