California does away with Coyote hunting prize rewards

I wonder how this will effect private bounty systems or even ranchers paying employees to cull animals that are prone to attack their livestock.

There is no end to the lunacy. And it seems more often than not to start in California. Colorado is becoming a serious challenger however to the heavy weight champion of lunacy..

Would not have thought that they had anything like that in the first place.

One thing is for sure is that the people that remove the program could care less of the effect as long as it saves the lives of animals (that humans kill).

It's still legal to kill as many as you want, you just can't have a contest for it.
I'd like to see the actual regulations to see what it does to private bounty systems and private farm employment.

It only stops contests and prizes, not the actual hunting/shooting.

I must admit to ambivalence about any form of contest involving any type of hunting or fishing. "Big buck", bass tournaments, the tuna tournaments of the used-to-be. I've never liked them, although I stay silent when it comes to laws...
