Another Angeleno here--and for those that live in L A or Orange county or in the Bay area--get involved in the nearest NRA members council(s) to where you live. Times and locations can be found at www.calnra.com, which also has a good section on legislation (the one click system is tied to the bills we are tracking and will enable you to write one email and send it to every member of the appropriate committee/house--and let me tell you, the staff hates all the emails generated by the system

Fun Trivia: The Navy/Marines set up a town in the desert for teaching "Non-Combat Operations". This town is located in a fictional desert country called The PDRC(People's Democratic Republic of California). The Flag is Yellow bear on a red field, and the wall's of the building are plastered with posters of "Our Fearless Leader" (the Governator).
