I really appreciate everyones perspective. Sadly it seems that the market for hunting semi autos is doomed to remain unpopular. Accuracy seems to be the main reason that most guys don't like them, however most current "battle rifles" are both reliable and accurate enough. I think it's really strange that semi auto shotguns are fairly common in hunting applications and there are quite a few options for new ones. I guess I don't see why. Lever guns are not usually associated with extreeme accuracy, and they can be finicky with ammo. However they remain so popular that alll of Marlins centerfires are lever guns.
