I have an old remington 12 guage pump. The previous owner put camouflage tape all over it. Would you recommend that I remove this tape or should I leave it on? I don't use it for hunting. I only shoot clays. A pic is attached. This tape has been on there for several years by the way.

Is that a Model 31?

No telling what's under all that tape. It might well be a major pain to get it off, but I'd have to try it if it was mine. The way it's applied, there may be rust growing in some places under there.

fwiw,

Remove it, and enjoy many hours getting the goo off and restore it. It's a hobby right?

How much time and expense is up to you. You set your own pace and price. If it were me? I'd take it off immediately, and decide if it is worth it.

I would say leaving it on would create more problems in the long run rather than removeing it now.

I had a pair of boots like that once, I never took the tape off because "if it ain't broke don't go fixin it"

Now the question here I guess is... does having a gun full of duct tape qualify as broke?
