So this morning I called 14 gun shops in the area trying to track down a Springfield EMP for my GF, I got 4 or 5 "Yea we have those but, not in stock" and 5 or 6 "never heard of it, we have some compact .45's if thats what you want" (or something similar)

So is everyone having trouble finding the EMP?

There aren't any on GunBroker.com at the moment either. Gander Mountain in my area has a couple in stock - if you have one in your area, maybe they could transfer it in from another of their stores?

I belive the last time I looked the Gunstop in Excelsior, MN had one (might not help you much since its in MN, and not sure if they do any "over the phone" type orders).

I have one in my safe.

:D :D :D

I was just at our local Gander and they told me they can't seem to get any in stock. Don't know what the deal is.

Just called 4 more shops nobody has them in stock. Guess I she will have to wait until the middle of January thats when most seem to expect them in.

Try calling Springfield, see if they'll tell you where some of the last ones went and have them transferred in.

Me too.. in safe

...

My local gun store where I got mine awhile back, ordered 8 from their supplier 3 weeks before Christmas. They got just one, 1 week before Christmas.

Great demand, little supply..

Best bet is to lock a gun store down with an order for one by phone, when you're there, and then give them a down payment.

Hang in there, you'll find one for her.

She called another shop in Albany and he said he thinks he can get one next day, they are going to call her back. Hopefully she will be in luck.

Ahh, the things we do for women and guns.

Larry's Pistol and Pawn in Huntsville, Alabama, has them advertised on their website for $899. Whether they still have them in stock or not, I leave to them to answer. But that sure seems a good price to last very long.

Wow! Great price. I was in there yesterday and didn't see one, but that doesn't really mean anything. It was covered up and I could have skipped over it very easily.

Good luck Kd! I'm sure she'll love it.

Hurry, or else.. lol

...

This is how rusty I got, having not shot my EMP in the last 2 weeks..

I'm not the best shot but, IF ya need suppression fire, I'm your man.. lol

Santa didn't bring me my shooting glasses with lower bi-focals..

I have been wanting one of these for several months now. The only place I have seen one in stock was Gander Mountain in Fredericksburg Va and they wanted 1300.00 for it. I ain't paying that for it. I picked up a S&W 642 :D to hold me over until I can find one cheaper, IF I ever find one cheaper.

We have one NIB, in the showcase but I don't recall the price at this time;
as I'm at my residence. Call for price quote:

Simmons Sporting Goods
2001-2nd Ave North
Bessemer, AL 35020
PX: (205) 425-4720

Business Hours: 0900-1800 M-F (CDT)

Ask for me, ole' Alabama Dan- Please~!

We can't beat Larry's price; as our price is $969.88 + 9% tax (for ' Bama locals)

I don't see many Springfields of any kind anymore.

Are they having trouble supplying or maybe it's a local "thing" where I live, distributor issue, gunshop, etc?

I've been holding out for a Springfield Loaded lightweight "commander" for months, and my dealer hasn't been able to get one. I think Springfield can't make them fast enough. Good problem to have, in one way. Until potential customers do what I did and ordered a S&W Scandium PD.

My local dealer does have an EMP on the shelf. Lawson's 931-853-4877
Don't recall the asking price, but he will ship.

I've been wanting an EMP for myself since I heard they came out, but I'm getting the same response from my local shop as many others here - they simply can't get any from Springfield. It's not just the EMP's, either - alot of the local shops by me can't even get reliable supplies of the run-of-the-mill Springfield 1911's.

I handled one last week in Lancaster, Oh. I don't remember the price.
I had been thinking of getting one, but it felt too small to me for a 1911.
My knuckles were crowded by the thumb safety, but I have large paws!

Of course, I was waiting to pick up my new SA Champion at the time....

Regards,

Jamie

Good Guy Guns in Medford Oregon has at least2 of 'em. I know, because I traded in 2 of the 3 I had, and they had a new one on the shelf as well...

Call 'em up, they'll ship it.

Where were you when I had my 2 for sale? :)

CDNN Sports have them in their latest catalog (#7), along with other S.A. 1911 pistols. But maybe by now they might be history.

www.cdnnsports.com

Note: You won't find them on their website. You have to download a 31mg. catalog, and then telephone for prices if you're still interested. Or you can get on their mailing lit.
